Regency Rooms in Much Wenlock

Welcome to your stay in the Regency part of our house. Three rooms, including a large sitting room, en-suite bedroom, galley/study, and your own private courtyard and private entrance, all within minutes of the many amenities that Much Wenlock has to offer. Turn one way and you have all the shops, cafes & pubs of the charming historic town of Much Wenlock. Turn the other way and lovely country walks are on your doorstep. Self-contained accommodation on two floors. The ground floor has a large regency style sitting room with a wood burning stove (wood is supplied for you). Plenty of comfortable seating and the bookshelf contains all of the Booker prize winner novels. Your front door entrance leads directly into the galley/dining space. A fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, etc are provided and a hearty continental breakfast will be prepared for you. Your backdoor leads out onto your own private courtyard. From the galley it is up a few stairs to the quirky bedroom, with its wooden floors, beams and en-suite bathroom. The bedroom has a generous sized single bed. The en-suite bathroom has a bath, and you also have use of a walk-in shower. Other facilities include: safe, off-road parking, outside your front door, wifi throughout, use of washing machine, freezer, and utility room to let wet coats and muddy boots dry out and an outdoor courtyard/garden. We will be usually be available next door should you need us . We are welcoming hosts, so whatever you need, please let us know. The Gaskell Arms with its lovely garden is just a short stroll from your front door. In addition there are several other pubs: George & Dragon, The Fox and the Talbot Arms; The Raven and Bilash restaurants and a Chinese take-away all within easy walking distance. The historic town of Much Wenlock has many fine buildings, over 25 independent shops, several cafes and a market (Tuesday, Friday & Saturday). The medieval Wenlock Priory has a very good audio guide and Wenlock Edge and many other lovely country walks are easily reached from your door. Ironbridge, a world heritage site with many museums, Shrewsbury, Ludlow & Bridgnorth (the terminus of the Severn Valley Railway) are all very attractive & interesting towns just a few miles away. Much Wenlock also hosts an annual Olympian Games founded by local doctor William Penny Brookes who helped to revive the Olympic Games and whose legacy is celebrated in the town's musuem. Whether you wish to be walking, strolling or are travelling on business, the Regency rooms provide a comfortable stay. We are just a short stroll from the heart of the town and on the 436 bus route from Shrewsbury to Bridgnorth. The nearest rail stations are Telford and Shrewsbury.
