Railway Cottage in the heart of Somerset

Rooks Nest is a cosy self contained cottage for five. There is a separate kitchen, and open planned lounge/diner with a 43” 4k smart TV incl Netflix, Disney + and amazon prime. A private enclosed court yard garden with outdoor dining. There is a ground floor bathroom and shower. Upstairs there is a large double bedroom with smart TV. A 2nd bedroom with double bunkbed and a secured access to a outside balcony area with loungers. To the front of the cottage there is double private parking. Super fast fibre broadband and WIFI is included throughout the property, Netflix, Disney + and Amazon Prime video also available on both TVs as well as catch up services. For music lovers there is a bluetooth enabled music system with dab, aux and CD player, Wireless phone chargers are provided in the kitchen and master bedroom. For the little ones, Toys, a selection of board games and colouring books are available as well as stair gates top and bottom, high chair, children’s tableware, bed guard and a travel cot (for safety we don’t supply a cot mattress or bedding so will need to bring your own) A large selection of paperback books which we operate as a book swap should you not quite finish your read. All bedding, Bath and hand towels provided. A fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher, microwave and nespresso coffee machine. Outside the courtyard has a 6 burner gas bbq and garden furniture Smoking is only permitted outside in the ground floor garden (ash trays are provided) We will be available between 8am - 6pm for general enquiries, 24hr for any emergency Somerset is a county full of ancient landscapes, secret caves and grottoes, undulating hills, mysterious folklore and spectacular coastlines. But that’s not all, fascinating ancient history, pagan sites, castles, and the stunning wilderness of Exmoor are all encompassed within its boundaries. Somerset is the perfect county for outdoor exploration as well as visiting architectural wonders and bustling market towns. There are plenty of takeaways and cafes within walking distance, the Coopers arms, which has a beer garden, skittle ally and live music from time to time. We are also lucky to be located near many cider farms for the true taste of Somerset! The Apex leisure and wildlife park is just 15 min walk and includes fishing ponds, a play park and skate park. Just a short walk further and you will find yourself at the beach, there you will find an abundance of eaterys, pubs and shops. For keen anglers, there is course fishing available just 100 yards from the cottage, (licence/permit available from local bait shop), sea fishing also available at Burnham beach. The property is less than a 5 minute walk from the main line train station and under 2 miles from the M5 motorway. There is also excellent bus transport links from the train station to all local areas. A great location to be able to explore towns such as Cheddar, Glastonbury, Wells and Weston super mare, with many picturesque villages in between, all within a short drive. Being in the heart of Somerset the countryside is on your doorstep with a variety of country and coastal walks. This area of Somerset is very flat so is perfect for cycling, with many beautiful locations to visit including plenty of cider farms and villages with great award winning pubs for a drink and a bite to eat.
