The unique berth of the houseboat is located on the island of Burd, which is part of the De Oude Venen National Park. This island lies to the east of the village of Grou, from which it is separated by the Princess Margriet Canal. The Burd is further bounded to the Pikmeer, the Wijde Ee and the Graft. The houseboat is accessible with your (rented) boat or by foot, bicycle or by car via ferry De Burd. Private dock with space for 2 large boats and good bicycles are available. After the ferry, walk, cycle or drive 300 meters to the parking lot at the small water pumping station building on your left. Through the front door you enter a small hall with a coat wardrobe and a very neat toilet. In the bedroom there is a large double box-spring bed (180x200), a wardrobe and large sink with cupboards, drawers and mirror and a shower. From the sitting room, kitchen and terrace you are completely surrounded by the water. The sitting room consists of a large sofa, a dining table and a TV (can be connected to your mobile via HDMI cable) and simple audio equipment. There is no Wifi available, but you can work and watch TV with your Hotspot or via Wifi Hotspot Grou. From the sitting room is a door to the west facing terrace, where you can watch the sunset in the evening. The kitchen is equipped with all appliances accept a dishwasher. There is a cooker, induction cooker, combi oven, coffee machine (Senseo) and crockery. At the rear of the houseboat is a lovely, sheltered private garden, where you can enjoy the sunbeds and the very comfortable lounge area with parasol. In the evening you can barbecue or make a fire in the outdoor fireplace. The jetty with bathing ladder offers space for at least 2 large boats. You can moor your own or rented boat at the jetty. Here you can look up the departure times and cost of the ferry (by foot or bycicle: 3 euro return, by car: 6 euro return) and you can also find information about the famous Ferry route, which you can cycle with our 2 hybrid bikes (recommended!). Grou is famous for its cozy cafes and restaurants, the offer of numerous boat rentals, the summer festifals and events like 'skûtsjesilen'. You can check in on friday, saturday, or sunday, with a minimum of 7 nights.
