This cozy little house is Portugal at its best: on a cobbled street, right across the church in the beautiful village of Carrapateira. It's a great place to relax - quiet and with a beautiful view over the town. You'll enjoy a typical Portuguese home, with an open-space designed interior, fully equipped kitchen and a wood-burner for the winter months. The beach is in walking distance, restaurants and shops just around the corner. Please notice our maximum capacity of two adults & two kids. The house is our private home, which we rent out when we are not there. Although small, we feel very comfortable living here with our two kids and would like to share this wonderful place with you. The house is made up of an open-space living and dining area with kitchen downstairs. When you walk up the open staircase, you'll get to the bedroom and bathroom on the upper floor. The house is cool in the summer and gets really warm and cozy in the winter when you heat up the wood-burner. You will find a lot of individual details and regional materials in the house, like the wooden ceiling with beams from Monchique. Inside, you will find all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay, like a fully equipped kitchen, washing-machine, hairdryer, surfboard-rack, ... You can have your coffee outside on the bench in front of the house and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the church garden right in front of you. The Coral Tree is just opposite of the house - and was our inspiration for the name of our house - Casa Coral. Walk only a few steps up to the church from where you have a breathtaking view of the beach Praia da Bordeira. Be sure not to miss the sunset up here! Are you traveling with kids? We love to stay here as a family with two kids under 3. We have a babybed and a high-chair for you to use as well as a baby-bathtub. However, we want you to bear in mind that the upper floor is like a gallery and not completely closed towards the stairs, next to the double bed, but has a railing (as you can see in the pictures). How many guests can stay in our house? Two adults and up to two kids (plus a baby) can will have a comfortable stay here. Because the two beds (bed + mezzanine) are located in the same room, we want to limit our number of guests to two adults. How sporty do I have to be to get to the mezzanine? You don't have to be super-sporty, but you should be able to climb a ladder up and down - and you should feel fine doing it in order to get to your bed. For safety-reasons, kids are not allowed to stay in the mezzanine unsupervised. You'll be living in our little house, just in the middle of the historic centre of Carrapateira. You can walk everywhere in town and even go for a walk to the beach. Parking is not a problem, you can either park at the carpark around the corner or down at the main road. Since this is our private home, we cannot be there at the same time as you are. But our co-host lives close by and will be there for you. The beautiful village of Carrapateira is located right in the heart of the National Park Costa Vicentina. Whether you want to go surfing, hiking, or just enjoy the beach and laid-back lifestyle - Carrapateira is the place to be. The two beaches - Amado and Bordeira - offer plenty of surf, sand and sun. There is a beautiful coastal trail connecting the two beaches with incredible views of the sea and the "Rota Vicentina" for those who want to go on longer hikes. Carrapateira is the perfect base for your surfing safari, with the spots of Arrifana, Aljezur, Vila do Bispo and Sagres in close distance. The village of Carrapateira offers everything you need for your stay - a few restaurants, bars and a mini-mercado, as well as surf shops and the daily market where you can buy fruits, veggies and fresh fish. Additional info for our winter guests: We don't have enough space to store wood on our property. In the winter months, we'll provide wood for the first night upon arrival. You can buy more firewood at Intermarché in Aljezur, LIDL in Vila do Bispo or at gas stations. Please not that there is no other way of heating the house than the wood burner. COVID-19: We comply with the Airbnb Cleaning- and Disinfection-Rules. In addition, because of the special situation, we block two nights before resp. after your stay. Furthermore, we want to inform you that unfortunately, we cannot provide children's toys at the moment.
