Orchard Annie - Cornish Shepherd’s Hut
A romantic setting for the perfect getaway, whatever the occasion. We wish to welcome guests to our little nature haven in a traditional Cornish Apple orchard. Guests will be able to explore the surrounding countryside and beaches, before coming back to the hut and warming up with the log fire. We have a host of wildlife and beauty in the orchard including pheasants, woodpeckers, barn owls and honey bees. The shepherds hut is a space to relax and unwind. The shepherds hut is a small, perfectly formed home from home. It is an opportunity to unwind away from WiFi, TV and external pressures. Guests can enjoy a comfortable bed with 100% cotton bedding, wood-burning stove and relax with a bottle of apple juice from the surrounding orchard.. They can also sit around the fire pit, under the stars., or enjoy a traditional bbq on the fire pit. The hut has modern amenities of a hot shower inbuilt toilet and gas hob, whilst a microwave and fridge are contained in a wooden shed alongside the hut. Barn owls, pheasants and woodpeckers can be seen and heard. Guests have access to their own garden, where you can sit and watch the birds, light the fire pit and enjoy a glass of local Apple juice made from last year’s apples. Our fire pit can also be used as a bbq We live in barns on-site and are available to assist with any requirements . However our aim is to leave you to enjoy the peaceful surroundings You can walk to the local village and enjoy a drink at the pub and buy essentials from the village shop. We are close to beaches, coastal paths. Looe, Plymouth and the beautiful Dartmoor National Park. You can visit the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan, Padstow and the Camel cycle Trail The shepherds hut has all the amenities required, including kitchen with gas hob, bathroom and electric hot shower, with a cold water feed for the sinks. Tea, coffee and milk are complimentary as are home-made scones on arrival. The wood burning stove provides a cosy atmosphere for the colder nights and a fire pit provides external heat and a place to gather and enjoy. There is also a small electric radiator should you need it. A shed is available next to the hut, where guests can use a fridge and microwave as well as store their bikes if required. Guests can explore the beauty of South East Cornwall including visitor attractions such as the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan , national Marine Aquarium and all historic Plymouth attractions. They can also walk to the local villages where the pubs serve food and beverage. We are situated 20 mins from the coast and 30 mins from Dartmoor National Park and Plymouth. There are cycle routes locally as well as local pubs to explore. We hope guests appreciate the beauty and peace of the countryside and enjoy an experience away from the pressures of the modern world. The hut has a radio but no tv so you may want to download any programmes on devices before you arrive. We look forward to sharing our orchard and am sure you will have an enjoyable stay.
