Beautiful French Country House

Stunningly beautiful old French country house with gorgeous garden in a peaceful hamlet within reach of interesting local towns and sights. Come and relax, cook and eat, write and read, walk in the woods, sample the local Champagne and go on cycle rides and enjoy the peace of this lovely location. Spacious elegant country house with wood burning fire and oil-fired central heating in the winter, and the cool of thick traditional stone walls in the summer. Large front room, kitchen-diner, dining room and three large bedrooms, one with two beds. An sdditional sleeping spacs in the summer months by arrangement include a separate guest house, which has a kitchenette and bathroom with a shower. Large garden, including a field that would be perfect for camping and for children to play in, a fire pit and outdoor seating area. Mindful weeding, the pleasures of pruning and anything that can be done to tame the vegetable patch would all be welcome. Parking in the drive. There's no public transport unfortunately. I don't live here, but I have people nearby who can help if there are any issues and I'm on the end of a phone if you need anything. Quiet hamlet in the middle of forest and farmland, with a range of accessible walks in the vicinity and others further afield. It is 20 minutes from the nearest large town, Chaumont, which has various shops, including a hypermarche with amazing fish, cheese and meat counters. A bakery van passes through the hamlet daily with fresh bread. There is no public transport. You will either need a car, or to shop in Chaumont on arrival by train and take a taxi to the house (I can provide details). It's worth saying that this is an old country house, and impossible to rid it entirely of insects such as ladybirds or daddy long-legs, much as I ensure that it's kept as clean as possible. It's my second home, I make sure it's nice for my guests, but it is important for guests to be aware that it is a lived in home rather than a more sterile holiday let. It's fully equipped for this reason, with just about everything you'd need.
