The Professor's home
If you like a house full of family history in the real country with beautiful landscapes, if you like reading a book while resting in a shaded gazebo, if you travel with children, you will certainly love our house, built in 1890 by our great-grandfather Isidoro. The house is on a hilltop, free on four sides, surrounded by partially fenced 2.5 acres of hazelnut and fruit trees, a small wineyard and green fields. Living room, kitchen and bathroom at grounfloor, four bedrooms and a second bathroom at first floor; all rooms are huge. The house is not a refurbished one for tourists; my great-grandfather built it and it was my family house for one century, my parents put in the house all the money they earned in their life and I passed my first 25 years there. I begun to rent the house three years ago because I absolutely want to keep the house and the sorroundings in the best possible way. In the house you will find a Petrof upright piano yearly tuned at 440Hz, a PC with free wifi internet access, thousand books in Italian and English, toys for children, a satellite TV and so on. Outside the house you will find a twin swing, sandbox, a gazebo, a BBQ and the vegetable garden, plus an above-ground swimming pool suitable for children above 4-5 years. Last but not least there are some bicycles for adults and children, all of course free-of-charge. I live in Asti, 20KM apart, but I will do my best for initially explaining the house, the village and the amenities, and I'm always available to advise and help, if you like. The house is in Roatto, a very nice and small village (300 people), at walking distance you will find a very good butcher (salami are outstanding) with a small grocery. Around Roatto there are 12 Romanic Churches (XII century), many villages with castle and church, small towns like Asti with his towers and Alba with truffles, big towns like Torino (an imperial town) and Milano (the fashion town). A bus stop is at walking distance, the railway station with connections for Torino and Asti is at 5KM from the house. But if you like going around, then you definitely need a car. At 25 KM you can admire the Roero region, recognized with Alba as one of Unesco World Heritages.
