Pinos del Valle, Lecrin Valley (Granada-Costa Tropical), this house has great views from private terraces, pool, lots of sun & bars nearby, relaxing, quiet. Spacious living/dining room and modern kitchen. Three bedrooms all with bathrooms next to them. TV/DVD & WiFi Ideal for quiet breaks or family/group holidays, in the Lecrin Valley (Granada-Costa Tropical), this house has great views, private terraces, pool shared with three other houses, WiFi, lots of sun & the bar nearby. As a location Pinos del Valle is a key village in the beautiful Valley of Lecrin, 30 minutes drive to the Costa Tropical, the city of Granada and the Sierra Nevada pueblos blancos. It has two bar/restaurants and a vibrant local culture. The entrance is from a semi private patio with large wooden doors to the street. This gives privacy enabling the guest to use the patio and the pool in the company of other guests only, and you have other terraces even more private as well. Entering the house there is an open plan living room, kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is equipped with gas hob - electric oven, fridge freezer, microwave cooker, and plenty of work surface and cupboards. In the living room area there are sofas, armchairs, and coffee table, with table and chairs, music centre, and TV. The terraces also have tables and chairs, and views of the Lecrin Valley and the Sierra Nevada beyond. Heating in the houses is a mixture of wood-burning stoves, electric and gas heaters. We supply all heating materials and appliances, as well as crockery and bedlinen - everything you need. The pool and surrounding patio are available for guests and this is shared with two other houses. There will likely be other people here in the summer from other northern European countries. We have a resident friends Matt and Laura living there who can let us know if you need any more sunshades! This is a real suntrap but there are two of the three private terraces in the house looking in the opposite direction towards the mountains and often with a cooler quieter aspect. We provide every house with table and chairs and at least two sunloungers in the communal area, plus two more sun-loungers in their private terraces. The houses in Jardines de Pinos all have their access via the pool/patio, so it is only natural that neighbours, who are all our guests, get to know each other. Matt and Laura who live in the corner house, and who prepare the houses, are there for any information needs you may have. There is usually a social life in the patio, but you do have three private terraces as well if you want to stay undisturbed. The village is ideally placed for taking daytrips to Granada, the beaches of the Costa Tropical, or the lush scenery of the Alpujarras. There is a bar-restaurant offering free tapas with drinks as well as filling as Menus of the Day. The Valley of Lecrin is a startlingly beautiful area which occupies one of the most privileged positions in Spain. The area itself is midway between the Costa Tropical, famous for its verdant cultivation of exotic fruits and sugar cane, and the city of Granada, home to the Alhambra and the Albaicin, Spain´s most potent historic attractions. So much history abounds around the city of Granada that it would be impossible to tell all here. Home to the last empire of Spain´s Moorish era, Granada was finally taken by Ferdinand and Isabella in 1492 after more than 700 years of Moorish civilisation, which shaped the city and the area for ever. All of Granada's attractions are within easy reach of the house, as are the various beaches and resorts of the Costa Tropical. Last but not least, the south facing villages of the Sierra Nevada are also a short drive away. This area, known as the Alpujarra, has been written about by Gerald Brenan ("South from Granada") and Chris Stewart ("Driving Over Lemons"). Pinos del Valle was once a most prosperous village in the olive and almond growing zone of the Valley of Lecrin. Today the agriculture is still important and the village is celebrating its culture by opening an Olive Museum just around the corner. In addition, locally, there are numerous fiestas often at weekends which feature local music, drinks, flamenco, and gastronomy. The house has two grocery stores, and a bar which serves food, within easy walking distance. Also Matt and Laura can direct you to the baker and the pharmacy. The bar has a lovely terrace with views overlooking the lower part of Pinos, the church and the countryside beyond
