Open June to September. Pitched on the edge of the woods, this authentic & awesome handmade Tipi Lodge is for up to 2 adults only. Be close to nature and reconnect with your wild side! There is no electricity or water at the Tipi - apart from the nearby river. All wash/shower/toilet facilities etc. are in the main buildings at the house (200m). You can usually drive your car and park near the site. Breakfast back at the house for 5€pp or 10€ pp for a cooked breakfast. Open June to September. Our Tipi Lodge is a thrilling experience. Pitched close to the sights & sounds of nature without the distractions of electricity, running water or wifi! It's a magical place to stay for those willing to take time out to reconnect with the romance of the land. Handmade here in France, the Tipi Lodge is based on an original Native American design. It's one of the smallest Tipi's at 4metres in diameter, so it's a snug & cosy space for only 1 or 2 adults. As usual with a Tipi, it has a low entrance and is ideal for a short stay of 2 to 4 nights. The bed is made up of 2 single futon mats wrapped in layers of blankets. Bedding is provided or you can bring your own. A camp fire outside may be possible but is dependent on weather conditions and permission is required. All shower, wash & toilet facilities are at the Barn where the Dormitory is, which is about 200ms from the Tipi. The rate for the Tipi is 40€ per night. A continental breakfast is 5€pp or 10€pp for a cooked breakfast. Meals & massages are available with advanced booking. We specialize in your complete relaxation! During your stay, we can provide Vegetarian/Vegan evening meals, Spa massage treatments, knife making workshops, and digital photography workshops ~ these must all be booked in advance. A pool table and boules are also available. Our home-cooked food is made with love from our own vegetable garden whenever possible and is a fusion of vegetarian & vegan world cuisine. Nikki has published 2 recipe books which are available to buy when you're here or online from amazon ("Under The Lime Tree.cook!") Massages available from Nikki are ~ hot stones / shiatsu / face massage / indian head massage. All massages should be booked in advance. We live on site and are here to help make your stay a memorable one. You will have access to all of the facilities at Under The Lime Tree. The back garden is a private area for the owners. If the skies are clear, we'll get the telescope out for some serious star gazing! It's out of this world! This is a private location with stunning views across the valley. It is very safe and secluded. Under The Lime Tree is 3 kms from anywhere, set in its own private 25 acres of wild meadows and woodlands. A river runs along the north side of the property suitable for bathing, paddling and picnic-ing! The local area is great for medieval towns, magnificent chateaux, adventure parks, lakes for watersports, swimming, museums, the valley of monkeys, animal parks, and the famous Futuroscope at Poitiers. The nearest town is 3 km and has an ATM, hairdressers, bakeries, supermarket, bars and restaurants. Angouleme is the nearest large train station. There's no public transport available so hire a car or bring your own. Local amenities are 3kms in the nearest village of St. Claud. Transfers from Limoges or Poitiers airports, or from Angouleme train station can be arranged for a small fee. Bike hire can be arranged with a local company.
