Ideal for two people, a lovely, romantic and quiet apartment located in the highest part of the historical centre of Manciano. Spectacular views right to the sea, hot springs of Saturnia just 10 km away. This charming one bedroom apartment has been recently renovated and newly furnished. It is composed of a double bedroom, dining room with kitchen and sofa bed, one bathroom and an enchanting little rooftop terrace with a stunning view over the hills of the Maremma, the Argentario and the sea. The bedroom is very cosy with a king size bed, a built-in wardrobe, linen and towels (email hidden). In the apartment you will find: - Free Wi-Fi - Stove and electric oven - Kitchenware - Mocha coffee maker - Fridge - Fireplace - Hairdryer - Independent heating Terrace: - Table and chairs - Umbrella - Night-light - Storage closet The apartment is located in a building with 2 other holiday-rental properties (in case you are a group of friends or you need larger accommodation don't hesitate to contact me). Arrangements for laundry can be made. We live about an hour from town, so we won't be there all the time. However we are available at any time and happy to help with recommendations on the area, and we also provide day trips to explore the surroundings. Please contact us ahead of time if you would like us to arrange something for you (i.e. day trips, wine tours, restaurant bookings, etc.) The neighbourhood is very peaceful and quiet. The apartment is located right under the Aldrobrandeschi Castle which overlooks the town and the surrounding countryside. The car park is very close and within walking distance you will find stores, supermarket, restaurants and a medical centre in the piazza next door in case of emergency. There are many things to do if you use Manciano as your base point. First of all, rent a car (or bring a bicycle). There are buses, but as this is the least crowded and most rural part of Tuscany, there aren't many. Spend at least one full day at the world class spa “Terme di Saturnia” (only 15 minutes away by car/ 35 by bus) with its hot sulfur springs at a constant temperature of 37 C° (99.5 F°) which have been used since Etruscan times. Visit Montemerano (just 10 minutes away), with its beautiful medieval center called Castello, and Pitigliano (25 mins away), a perfectly preserved old town perched high on a rocky outcrop overlooking two rivers. The Etruscan and Roman remains (and beautiful medieval castle and museum) at Vulci (30 minutes). Spend a day at the beautiful Lake of Bolsena, the largest volcanic lake in Europe, and visit the Bisentina Island with its unique atmosphere (accessible via a ferry service from Capodimonte). Going towards the sea, the places worth a visit are: - the gorgeous beaches of La Feniglia, the Argentario, Talamone and the Parco dell'Uccellina (30-45 minutes) - the beautiful medieval town of Capalbio (25 minutes away); - the “Giardino dei Tarocchi”, or the Tarot Garden, a sculpture garden based on the esoteric tarot cards created by the French artist Niki de Saint Phalle (30 mins away); - the enchanting seaside villages of Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole only 30 minutes away. For further tourist information don't hesitate to ask.
