It retains the quality and charm of a Fife town, with an award winning butcher shop, excellent grocery store, village church, library and many charming community events. The Ship is an award-winning restaurant with excellent food and there are two local pubs, both worth a visit during your trip. The cottage is less than 2 minutes walk from the Rail Station - with regular trains running to Edinburgh and surrounding areas from early morning until around 11.30 p.m. To find the cottage, simple walk towards the beach from the train station. If you walk the beach route St Clair's Entry will be on your left hand side as you walk back up the hill towards the railway bridge. If you come straight down the lane following the rail route, St Clair's Entry is on your right hand side as the last entrance before the beach. There are 117 miles of beaches and rugged coastal walks ( Fife Coastal Trail) A car can be hired in nearby Kirkcaldy or at Edinburgh Airport for those who prefer to drive. The cottage is situated with a view to Kinghorn beach and within minutes walk of the Fife Coastal Trail. Edinburgh is 35 minutes by train and Kirkcaldy ( main town) is 3 miles away. There are dozens of golf courses between Kinghorn, Edinburgh and St Andrews - almost too many to choose from - and the dedicated golfer will enjoy time spent in Kinghorn and historic Fife.
