L'Abricotier, Le Moulin de Chazotte
L'Abricotier is located in half of the grand main building with its own separate entrance via an arched doorway at the West end of the mill. With three bedrooms it comfortably accommodates six people. The gite is named after the wonderful old apricot tree which climbs against the West-facing wall. Formerly the old coach house, it has a split-level ground floor with a charming snug/lounge area a few steps above the kitchen and dining area. L'Abricotier includes: 3 bedrooms - 1 double master bedroom with shower and sink in room, 1 twin room, 1 bunk room. Bathrooms - master bathroom with large shower plus downstairs WC. Fully equipped kitchen - double sink, electric cooker with a large oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave, toaster. Adjoining dining area with table and chairs. Sitting room - raised level lounge snug with woodburning stove, comfortable seating, TV. Private terrace - with barbecue, table and seating, and views over the grounds and woodland beyond. Additional information - electric panel radiators and double-glazed hardwood windows. WIFI. Ample parking facilities. Access to large shared swimming pool and garden. All linen, towels, kitchen equipment are provided at no extra charge. All gîtes have their own private terrace and also offer access to 12 acres of grounds and facilities, including the large heated swimming pool. Guests are free to roam the 12 acres of land that adjoin the mill - from bird and wildlife spotting in the woods, canoeing on the river, tractor driving, to playing a group game of rounders on the open field. In addition to the "great outdoors" we also have a number of activities to keep the whole family entertained - badminton, table football, childrens playground, boules. For those that want something a bit less active, all the gites come complete with a whole host of board games and books. For the social butterflies amongst you, we often host group barbecues, drinks and outdoor cinema nights so you can come along and get to know the other guests. Hosts live on site to provide 24 hour support and help if needed (but we also know when to keep our distance). Located in blissful rural tranquility within the Poitou-Charente region on the French Atlantic coast, we are only 10 minutes away from historic Cognac and a short drive to the nearest village with that all important local boulangerie.
