Country in the City-One Bed Apartment in Belconnen
This completely self contained, fully furnished apartment with separate keyed access is part of the main architect designed house in a peaceful leafy setting. The apartment has a lounge room, kitchenette, separate bedroom and bathroom. A comfortable double bed is provided. A single futon couch bed suitable for a child up to 8 years is available, which can be moved to the bedroom on request. A first day welcome breakfast of fruit, bread, butter/jam and my own fresh free range eggs is available. Off street parking for one car is available. A short walk through the lane leads to the bus stop and bus #45 will take you to the local shopping centre and Belconnen Mall (with links to Calvary hospital, UC and ANU universities, city and airport). You will have the entire apartment to yourself . Access is up the steps off the driveway, to the left, last door at the end of the verandah. Please note the small cottage at the end of the driveway, is a private residence. I would be available for check in between 2pm and 8pm and check out is at 10am unless arranged beforehand. Please let me know approximate time of arrival so I can give you the key. There is easy walking access to the nature reserve where kangaroos are often seen and a lookout gives views over Canberra. It adjoins a working farm. Nearby Belconnen Lake offers coffee shops, bars and restaurants, an Art Gallery, playgrounds, picnic/barbeque facilities and a 6 km walk, all along the foreshore. There are many bike paths around Canberra, including both lakes. The bus service is very good. The front and fenced area of the garden is shared but available for your use. The side area including the pond, chicken run and vegetable garden is not open to guests unless you want to give the chickens some vegetable scraps. The washing machine and clothes rack for your exclusive use is on the back verandah which is sunny, covered with patio blind. Please note that guests staying long term will provide own essential items ie toilet paper, shampoo etc and will be expected to launder the linen.
