Spacious Attic Room in a beautiful period property
Our spacious, comfortable rooms are minutes from Ramsbottom town centre. We are approximately 40 mins drive from Manchester with good public transport links. Our Home: Church View House is a unique period property that combines high quality, spacious rooms and a comfortable, home from home atmosphere. The Attic is a private ensuite room available on our second floor as well as access to a dining room/lounge on the ground floor. Church View House is our home and offers unique, boutique-style Bed and Breakfast accommodation in the heart of Ramsbottom, just a 5 minute walk from the town centre. We love it here and we hope that, having stayed, you will too. This is a spacious suite perfect for a couple. In the light and airy bedroom you can relax in fresh white linen in the comfy double bed. There are plenty of drawers and hanging space, a cosy corner to sit and read and most of all it is quiet. Should you really want to unwind there is a spacious private bathroom with Victoria and Albert claw foot or a walk-in shower. Access to guest lounge and dining room and use of the small garden, space provided in fridge on the landing outside the room. Limited access to kitchen. Sorry but there are no cooking facilities at this listing although guests can store and prepare food to eat in their room if they wish. However, there are many great cafes and wonderful restaurants nearby. There is a hair dryer in the room, towels, bed linen and toiletries (shampoo, body wash, hand wash and toilet paper) are provided. For a small additional charge laundry services can be provided. A continental breakfast is provided (self service) and consists of tea and fresh coffee, orange juice, croissants or muffins, toast, muesli, granola cereals, fruit and yogurt. Breakfast is served between 8am and 9.30am weekdays and 8.30 - 10am at weekends. As this is our home, I will normally be present during your stay and on hand for any queries and am happy to chat. But I also respect your privacy. In recent years Ramsbottom has gained a reputation for being a 'foodie' town with a variety of great restaurants, most of which are in walking distance of our home. Some of our favourite places to eat: - Holcombe Tap (Pub) - Great cocktails, a good selection of delicious ‘small plates’, friendly atmosphere and stylish interior. Even better, it’s just across the road! - Levanter (delicious Spanish Tapas) - gets very busy so you need to book. It's a little bit of Barcelona in Ramsbottom! - Baratxuri (Spanish Tapas) - different menu but sister bar to the above - China Cottage (Chinese) - their Sunday all you can eat buffet is very popular with locals, delicious and great value. - Cardamom Cream (Indian) - Fantastic food and very slick interior. Great curry with extra sparkle - Hearth of the Ram (Modern British) High quality food and great cocktails in a lovely space. On a sunny day head for the roofless outdoor seating area. - The Chocolate Cafe - As the name suggests every chocoholics dream. - The Mouse Trap - friendly, cosy bar with delicious cocktails and as the name suggests a great selection of cheese boards - Eagle and Child - (seasonal, local Lancashire pub grub) Worth a visit for the views from The Orangery and the food is pretty good too. - Grape to Grain - an off license that’s a bar or a bar that’s an off license! Take your pick! These guys really know their stuff when it comes to wine. Fantastic range of wines and craft beers. You can book on a tasting session too. They also serve so delicious platters. - Drinc – (Café Bar) – Serving breakfast, sandwiches, cakes and good coffee. They do a really good club sandwich (with the added bonus of sweet potato frieds ) and their freakshakes are really something to be seen! The Hungry Duck - A really good brunch menu so if you still have space after your continental breakfast or fancy something hot then give this a try. Walking We are on the West Pennine Moors so if you love the great outdoors you can easily walk onto the moors right from the door step! As an outdoor girl I am happy to act as your guide on local rambles. I run a walking group on a Friday morning (guests permitting!) and you are more than welcome to join us. Biking There are some good bike trails in the area. The rolling hills of the West Pennine Moors, a technical trail centre at Lee Quarry and loads of other places to explore. We have a large, secure cellar where you can store your bikes too. We are about 6 miles from Bury and 40 minutes drive north of Manchester. There are good transport links to Bury and Manchester. Bus 474 and 472 stop near our house and take you to Bury where you can get a Metro (tram) into Manchester. Please bear in mind we have young children and a small dog. The bedrooms are on a separate floor so they shouldn’t disturb you.
