Calm Romantic Village House

This romantic house is situated in a cute little village in the north of the green Allier (Auvergne Rhone Alpes). In the village is a small supermarket, bar-tabac, restaurant, pharmacy and bakery. The village is close to the Allier river, known for it's fabulous canoeing and fishing. The house is on the GR3 Vezelay Route (the famous hiking trail for pilgrims to Santiago de Compostella). In our house you won't find wifi, nor TV. What you will find is calm, rest, music and board games. The house consists of three bedrooms, a livingroom, a bathroom (shower, sink, wc), downstairs toilet and kitchen (with a fridge, freezer, oven and dishwasher). Bedroom 1: one small king sized bed (140x200cm) Bedroom 2: two small single beds (80x190cm) Bedroom 3: one large king sized bed (unfolded 160x200cm) The kitchen is well-equiped with a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, oven, electric stove, plates, pots & pans. Everything you need to prepare yourself some nice meals! The living room is small, but comfortable. There's a couch, two chairs and a large dining table. You will find a stereo (CD/USB), books and board games. The car, motor-bike or bicycle can be parked in the closed courtyard where they won't be visible from the street. The surroundings are more than suitable for many (outdoor) activities. In almost every village there are at least two hiking trails to be found, the Allier river is perfect to discover with a kayak or cano. Art and culture (and shopping) is to be found in the cities Moulins and Nevers, both waiting to be discovered in a 30 minute drive. The house is fully equiped for 6. However, please keep in mind that there's only one bathroom with one storage water heater. Hygiene is a high priority for me. After every guest's departure, my home is cleaned with a steam cleaner and other cleaning methods. In addition, all linen (including towels) is washed with a disinfectant product (which, by the way, smells nice and absolutely not like disinfection). The house is at your full disposal and doesn't have to be shared with any other people than the ones you're bringing yourself. I will welcome you personally, but if your time of arrival is at an "impossible hour", there is a key-safe at your disposal. I'm a chef by trade and can prepare you a meal upon your arrival, that you can warm yourself. You can think about a quiche, regional meal, etc. There's also the possibility that I make sure you've got all ingredients to prepare yourself a proper breakfast in the morning. I'm more than happy to exchange ideas about your wishes and likings in a message! I'm living at a 15 minute drive, so in case it's necessary, I can be there quite fast. The house is situated in the middle of the village, right on the GR3, the famous hiking pilgrimage trail to Santiago de Compostella. More specifically: the Via Lemovicensis. One of the four main French pilgrimtrails. At the beginning of the street there's a 11th century church. The Allier river is to be found at a 10 minute walk. The main street has a small supermarket, pharmacy, bar-tabac and restaurant. This is about a 3 minute walk. During the summer months there are a lot of Brocantes (flea-markets) in the Allier region in weekends (the most are on Sundays). Some green activities: Foret de Tronçais (the largest oak forest of Europe), Allier river (fishing, kayaking, canoeing), endless hiking trails, bicycling. The race circuits "Michel Tissier" (Lurcy-Lévis) and "Magny Cours" are also close (a 10 and 20 minute drive respectively). The cities Nevers and Moulins (at a 30 minutes drive) have all the ingredients to spend some time there: history, art, cathedrals, shopping, restaurants, etc. Le Veurde is easy to reach by car (and by foot, bike and bicycle as well). By car it's only a 10 minute drive from the N7/A77. The car can be parked in the small courtyard where it's not visible from the road. Perfect if you're on a through-trip and don't feel like emptying out your entire car. If you bring your bicycle(s) or motorbike(s) they can be safely parked in a shelter in the same small courtyard. You will find all the bed- and bath-linens you'll need. Usage of those is included in the price.
