Artist's house in authentic Umbria (apt)

Artist's household in a nourishing and tranquil setting. Particularly suitable for a relaxing recharge in the fresh countryside, away from any noise and city lights. The property is in the residential village of Fontanelle (Campello sul Clitunno) on forested slopes of oak & pine with magnificent views of the Umbrian (nominated) UNESCO world heritage valley below. A short walk takes you through olive groves to a nearby 10th century walled village. Wake-up in a lush Mediterranean garden filled with stunning sculpture in a newly renovated, contemporarily furnished apartment filled with original artwork. Enjoy two private terraces for alfresco dining, sunning or book reading. Then have a refreshing swim in our terraced (shared with host) pool. The space features an independent entrance, a bright and comfortable living room with views of the garden, a cozy sleeping alcove with ample closet, a fully equipped eat-in kitchen and a separate "bathroom". Free WI-FI access and on-site parking area. NOT SUITABLE FOR INFANTS OR YOUNG CHILDREN. GUESTS WITH PETS ARE WELCOME WITH CONDITIONS: PLEASE MESSAGE US IN ORDER TO HAVE FURTHER INFORMATION. The apartment, your own terrace, the area from the apartment to pool, the swimming pool, their own parking and access pathway. I give my guests space but I'm available when needed. Our co-host Alessandro will meet and welcome you at DELIVINO (a local deli store & wine bar) in Campello. Following refreshments, Alessandro will take you up to the property. I live in the main house above and I'm available for information and advice on local restaurants, facilities and places of interest. The property is right above the olive grove line where the forest starts. This means breathing fresh and pine-scented air. Vegetation surrounds you everywhere and views of the valley are simply amazing. Within a comfortable 3 minutes walk there is a delicious, local restaurant "Le Fontanelle" (my guests can enjoy special treatment there). In the main town of Campello you can find everything you might need: grocery store, laundry, pharmacy, including an excellent deli and wine & food tasting shop "Vincanta Enobottega". Last but not least, the property is located a short distance away from the St. Francis path (cammino di S. Francesco/Via Francigena ) connecting Assisi to Rome for amazing walks among olive trees. There are also other beautiful hiking trails in the vicinity. Accessible by car only - Not accessible with public transportation. First one way it’s included and provided by our co-host Alessandro. Car hire in town (Campello), in Spoleto or in Perugia airport (Ryanair connections from: 1. London Stanstead; 2. Bruxelles Carleroi; 3. Frankfurt; 4. Catania). Private driver available for a fee. 1) UTILITIES (central heating + firewood + electricity + water) ARE INCLUDED IN THE PRICE. 2) SHOULD CLIMATE CONDITION BE HARSH (i.e. snow or ice) IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO HAVE 4X4 CAR OR CHAINS. 3) POOL IS NOT AVAILABLE IN WINTER TIME. There are a number of beautiful places to visit like medieval castles, natural parks and nearby medieval towns such as: 1 (or half) DAY TRIPS: - Castles of Campello alto, Pissignano and Poreta - Fonti del Clitunno springs + roman Temple (UNESCO) - Trevi, Montefalco, Gualdo Cattaneo, Bevagna, Spello, Eggi, Spoleto, Norcia - Assisi, Perugia, Gubbio and Deruta - Orvieto and Todi - Trasimeno Lake - Marmore waterfalls - Castelluccio - Archeological site of Carsulae - Bomarzo "I Mostri" Garden - Villa Lante 2-DAYS TRIPS: - Rome - Florence - Siena - Val d'Orcia & La Foce garden - Bologna The location can be a great gateway to the National Park of Sibillini Mountains, in one of the most beautiful unpolluted natural areas of Italy famous for flyfishing on the River Nera (no kill area). Campello is also the monthly (once per month: every first Sunday) location of the biggest flee market in centre of Italy with antiques, crafts, local food and many other interesting items. OTHER ACTIVITIES upon request: truffle hunting sessions, Italian cooking class, horseback riding, mountain biking, trekking and rafting, Italian language courses. You can count on my co-host Alessandro for all that. From Spring to Autumn many Art and Culture events are performed in the area: - Spello Infiorata flower festival (June) - Spoleto Festival of the Two Worlds (end of June till mid July) - Umbria Jazz festival (mid July) - Spoleto Summer Festival (August); - Sagrantino Wine Festival ( 18 - 21 September); - La Quintana Medieval Tournament in Foligno (June and September)
