Traditional Two Story House in Galanado Naxos

This house is 100 square meters, on a hill in Galanado, a village with Venetian influences. The visitors can enjoy from the terrace the breathtaking, panoramic view of the old town of Naxos, the port, the sea and Paros island. Walk around the village and enjoy the pebbled little alleys and the traditional houses. There are no cars in the village. All the cars are parked in different spots around it. Parking is no issue, as you may park your car in a field and walk 2mins to get to the house. Two story house built in the traditional way that all houses are built in Galanado. It has a beautiful yard that gives you privacy as neighbors can't really see you. The yard has a built corner couch with a very old square marble table in the middle, an outdoor shower, a barbeque, an umbrella and an extra table for 6 people. As you walk in the house, there is a kitchen and a small living room. You go up two stairs and on your left there is a double room with a queen size bed, a closet and a bathroom next to it. On your left there is the built white staircase that leads to the first floor where there is a bedroom with two half double beds, huge closets and next to it, another bedroom with a double bed and a closet. There is another bathroom on the first floor with a washing machine to do your laundry. Both rooms have access to a white built cute balcony with a view of the village. The staircase continues to the roof terrace that has the panoramic view of the island. Blue and white are the main colors of the house. It is peaceful and quiet and this house has been built and decorated with love; so we would love and appreciate it if you took that into consideration throughout your stay. Through your stay, you have access to the whole house but please do contact us to give you tips of how some things work around the house to make your stay more enjoyable. We suggest renting a car as Naxos is the biggest island in Cyclades. By car you can easily move from our house,as its location is great, to villages around the house worth visiting, beautiful beaches, the town, the port All in about 10 to 15 mins drive away. There’s a field behind the house that you can park which is a 2 to 3 mins walk from the house. Also you can park on the beaches and at the villages, you can park at their main squares. In town, there are parking spaces. Galanado: Our Village Enjoy the traditional Greek souvlaki, greek salad, naxian french fries and raki of our village at Drilli's . Everything is made from local delicious products and you can also have them delivered to the house with one phone call. At Drilli's you can find anything you may need as it is also a small mini store. Across Drilli's, there is the buthcer's shop with great meat form Naxos for your barbeques. A bit further up the road you will see on your right the beautiful Belonia's Venetian Castle. Make sure you visit it. Galanado is about a 10 minute drive from the main town - "Chora", the port and the airport . And about a 15min drive from the best beaches of Naxos : Agios. Prokopios, Agia Anna, Plaka, Mikri Vigla. It is also close to beautiful villages worth visiting like Chalki. Suggestions to make your stay a memorable one: Naxos is the biggest island in Cyclades with a lot of ancient ruins and castles built in the Venetian era. The town is beautiful: you can walk in the alleys upwards towards the castle. Visit the castle and go to a cafe bar up at the castle where you can enjoy the amazing view of the town of Naxos, the sea and the port. It’s great for sunset or cocktails at night. In the little alleys you will find beautiful stores and galleries. Villages worth visiting: Chalki and Apiranthos. In chalki you walk and you can find a great tavern under some trees... the service is slow but the food is from local products ! Delicious and affordable! On the parallel alley there is a great store with handmade Greek sweets! Apiranthos is up in the mountains and it is cold if you go at sunset. The view is amazing! The whole village has marbled alleys. You should eat at platanos tavern and go for handmade unbelievable sweets at samaradiko! Another great tavern is “naxiotisa” -but make sure to call to make a reservation ! If you ask , everybody knows this tavern! In town you can eat at IRENE’s tavern on the main road towards the port, @ sirocco tavern at protodikio square and definitely have waffles at the Waffle House w homemade ice cream that had gotten awards from Italy! A great place to eat is also “Tortuga” in plaka! It is located at Plaka beach with an amazing view, great service and beautiful sun beds if you would like to go swimming there. In Plaka there’s also a great Mexican restaurant “Picasso “ and “yazoo summer bliss” to have great cocktails, eat and spend all day on the beach . In Plaka everything is on the beach! It’s beautiful to go swim there but not if it’s windy . It also has water sports there - Plaka water sports! Best beaches: Agios prokopios - as you look at the beach on the right side where the last lifeguard is, it is a great spot for you to go swimming! It’s amazing! It’s the 3rd best beach in Europe! The sand and the crystal blue green water are magical and you can go at that spot even if it’s windy! Mikri Vigla is a beautiful beach too! Worth visiting! Actually there , you will find 2 beaches: one for windsurf and one for kite/windsurf and one to go swimming! One is after the other . Whoever you ask they know how to guide you. If you want to eat , have coffee or drinks there -go to Floisvo! You should definitely go to Plaka too to swim , it’s magical especially near or a bit before “tortuga” but make sure there is no wind cause the sand is really thin ... In Agia Anna you can go eat @ palatia tavern with a view of paros and a bit further down you can eat greek souvlakia on the beach made of local meat and have naxian potatoes. Naxos has its own products! Meat- potatoes- cheese- vegetables and a lot more that are exported all over Greece. Let me know whatever you need and I am more than glad to help you.
