Tucked into the folds of the exquisite Banhoek Valley, this modern scandinavian style cottage enjoys panoramic views of the majestic Drakenstein and Simonsberg mountains. Surrounded by wild nature, in a home built of natural materials, poised on the edge of a dam, you will feel as if you are a million miles away from civilisation even though in fact you are only 10 minutes from Stellenbosch. From the cottage, trails will allow you to explore the full extent of the farm and neighbouring wineries. Camissa cottage is a beautiful, modern wood cabin. It has a wide deck that overlooks the Drakenstein mountains whose magnificent proportions are reflected in the two dams next to the cottage. A hot tub is placed in the stone boma next to the cabin for you to enjoy a warm bath while taking in the view. There are three bedrooms served by two bathrooms all beautifully decorated with the highest quality linen to enhance your stay. The kitchen is fully equipped and the dining area will comfortably accommodate you and your guests. There is a large outdoor braai area surrounded by dry-stone walls next to the cottage. You will need a car to get into town for the farm. Uber is not always reliable in our area, however if you do take one please do not give out the security codes to access the farm. Meet the taxi at the bottom gate and leave your own car on the parking bay just inside the gate. Guests have freedom to roam over the whole of this 60 hectare farm and are welcome to swim in the dams. There is a jetty on the edge of the lake to allow you to sunbathe and swim. I love to meet our guests and I am always happy to chat and give suggestions and recommendations. I would ask that if you have special requests that you ask before the end of the farm day at 5 pm. I find (Hidden by Airbnb) to be the easiest and quickest form of communication. On arrival guests have a welcome pack including a bottle of our own wine (tee totallers are welcome to request juice instead) tea, coffee, milk and some wood and toilet paper to get you started. Thereafter I expect guests to replenish their supplies from the shop as everyone’s needs and preferences are different. I feel that this is part of the nature of a self catering establishment and allows us to keep our prices competitive.
