Huon Valley View Cabin near Cygnet

Private, self contained cabin in the Huon Valley close to Cygnet (5 min), Bruny Island & Hobart (45 min), Hartz Mountain National Park & World Heritage Area (1 hr). Bush surrounds, stunning views of the Huon River & Hartz mountains. Beaches, bushwalking, markets, relax by the fire or on the deck & admire the view. Fat Pig Farm is a few mins drive to the next road, or 50 min walk, Cygnet market 1st & 3rd Sunday of the mth, Willie Smith's Artisan & Farmers Market every Saturday, 10-1. The cabin is one large space, with a queen bed, lounge & kitchen area in one and divided by a bathroom with a separate private space for the single bed. Bright, airy and roomy inside with double doors opening onto the deck. Wood fire set & ready to go, abundance of wood at your fingertips and back up heat-pump for instant warmth if needed. Kitchenette has a microwave, induction cooktops, bench-top oven & bar fridge. Pantry has condiments, fresh coffee beans or instant and a selection of tea-bags. Loo with a view in the bathroom and a barbeque outside with a seating area is adjacent to the studio for your use. Kids are welcome, in addition to the single bed, we can supply a porta-cot or a mattress on the floor and extra bedding. Just let us know what you need. There is a full size tv smart TV. A separate area has a single bed and although it is not an enclosed room, it is private from the main area. We have super fast NBN for all your internet needs and excellent mobile phone reception. The studio is private and separate from the main house. The old apple boxes outside the deck will have something fresh growing for you to pick to eat - unless the possums have been! We also have extensive veggie gardens and love to share our produce. Wander around the garden, walk to the river; or relax and enjoy the view! Full access to the studio and gardens and 18 acres of bush. You are welcome to drop into the house should you have any questions. We are always available and happy to help. You are welcome to any fresh produce we may have available from our garden and eggs from the chooks. Just let us know, we love to share what's available. We are happy to help with questions, recommendations etc. Our friendly dogs Fifi and Alvin (maltese/shitzu x), will also like to interact with you and love to stand on the deck to say good morning - please let us know if this doesn't suit you. They will bark hello and love kids, adults, other dogs and lots of pats. There is a range of brochures for nearby attractions and a manual to help with all you need to know about the studio and for local services and eating options. We respect your privacy and will interact as much or as little as you'd like. We want your stay to be all you hoped for! Graces Road is 2 kms from the main highway along a maintained dirt road and 4.5 kms from Cygnet's cafes, shops and galleries. We are an easy walk to the Huon River and within an hours drive to Hartz Mountains. You can visit local wineries, Bruny Island ferry is a 35 minute drive, and around 50 minutes to Hobart, Mona, Salamanca etc. There are markets on every weekend in the Huon Valley, including the Cygnet market on the 1st and 3rd of the month, and every Saturday morning 10 am - 1 pm at Willie Smith's Apple Shed Artisan Market just outside Huonville. Also in our neighbourhood (a couple of kms away) is Fat Pig Farm, a wonderful place for feasting at their long lunches, picnics and cooking classes (bookings well in advance essential). Wonderful views and wildlife all around, peaceful and quiet. There is a bus stop on the Channel Highway (2 kms) to take you to Cygnet or north to Hobart. It's a lovely walk to the bus stop. There is plenty of parking at your studio for a car. Bike riding & boating are popular and you are welcome to bring yours. We aim for minimal waste and ask that you use the bins provided for compost and recycling. We provide a tea selection, fresh coffee beans, grinder and stove top coffee maker, or instant coffee. We also provide milk (please ask), olive oil, salt & pepper, soap, shampoo, conditioner, tissues and toilet paper. The nearest shop is 6.5 kms away for your own supplies. We have solar hot water and rainwater tanks for your personal use. Thank you for using wisely. The fire is a wood heater and is very efficient. Let us know if you need to know how the vents work. Alternatively, there is also an electric heater to warm you up. On a sunny day, the sun will adequately warm the cabin and you might find you won't need any heating till later in the day. A washing machine, laundry detergent and fabric conditioner are provided. There is a clothes line west of the cabin for guests.
