Flint Lake Cottage.

This is a rustic cottage with old world charm. There are 2 fireplaces,. The home sits on a hill overlooking a lake. The lake can be accessed from the back yard. -Private beach and park access -Great access to city center and university -One hour from downtown Chicago -National Lakeshore and Dunes State Park is 20min. away -5 Local breweries and many award winning restaurants The cottage is in a very eclectic neighborhood and and historically rich area. The cottage culture goes back over 100 years in the area. When we remodeled this cottage we tried to Capture the beauty of the area as well as our memories from living in Spain. The location is splendid. We are about 6 minutes from downtown, 20 minutes from the dunes State Park, and about an hour from downtown Chicago. Downtown Valparaiso offers many award winning restaurants as well as three breweries 1 meaderie and a winery/cidery. There is always something going on in the plaza… Concerts, films, celebrations. Main access to the cottage is the front door. There is a lock box with a code. Both the balcony and the patio have doors as well. They are a bit fussy to open but can't be locked. There is a side door to the master bedroom that should not be opened. I believe it was originally the entrance to a screened in porch then converted to the room at a later date. As with all old houses this one has its quirks! I love meeting my guests when I am in town! I am always available by text and try to monitor that means of communication constantly during the stay. I live right across the street from the cottage and I am able to help if needed. If I am out of town my cohost Carlos is always available. The best way to arrive at the cottage is by car. There is parking in the driveway to the right of the cottage for two cars. An additional car may be parked in front of the cottage. This is a cottage community, so there are very many neighbors with cars. Parking is at a premium. We request that you respectThe neighbors parking area and only use the three spots we have available. If you should have more than three cars, please contact me and I will assist you in parking additional vehicles.Once at the cottage if you bring bicycles it is a lovely area to ride. We are are only a few miles from downtown and the country roads are lovely for biking. The area is quiet and beautiful.
