L'Antico Granaio
A splendid renewed apartment surrounded by Alica Castle, dating back to the 13th century, which preserves intact the traces of its past in the evolution of different cultures. The accommodation consists of entrance, kitchen and living room, bathroom, one bedroom with two single beds with mezzanine where there is a double bed and another room that looms to the living area with two other single beds. The apartment is suitably furnished to accommodate up to six persons, and have been refurbished to provide modern facilities but still retain traditional features. Groups, families with children and small behaved animals are welcome. Guests have also access to the shared swimming pool looking onto the Castle. Guests will have access to the entire apartment and to the condo spaces, as well as the shared pool (during opening hours). Located at the top of a fortified plant, the Castle overlooks the beautiful landscape of Val d'Era, in the ancient village of Alica. The name Alica comes from the ancient Latin name Campus Alicae given by the Romans meaning "spelled fields". An old mule track leads to the top of Alica where we find the church and just ahead of the castle gate overlooking the village, from which you enjoy a breathtaking view. Below the ancient part we find the village, rich in antiquity and tradition: still the walls and buildings of ancient farms and peasant houses are still visible. The accommodation looks directly onto the hills of Tuscany and provide an outstanding view. This coupled with very desirable locations ensures these apartments provide the ideal place to stay when on vacation, holiday, short break or on business at anytime of the year. The highway Firenze - Pisa - Livorno is about 10 km from the village, which allows a fast connection from the major centers. Alica is 35 km from Pisa, Volterra San Gimignano, San Miniato and Livorno, while important thermal centers such as Montecatini and Cascina Terme just a few tens of kilometers from Alica. A short path then leads to the beautiful Tirrenica coast and the refined beaches of Castiglioncello, Quercianella and Golfo di Baratti. It is recommended to use a car. Parking available. The pool is open from early May to mid September. The opening period may vary depending on the climatic conditions.
