Our cozy cabin is 15 min up to Cloudcroft or 17 min down to Alamogordo and is nestled in the beautiful Lincoln National Forest. It has a king, queen, 3 twins, 2 bathrooms, living room, and den w/ 2 couches. Perfect for romantic getaway or family vacations. The deck has views of Sierra Blanca Mountains and so much to explore on 2 acres of private wooded land. If you are seeking peace, solitude, and relaxation or if you want to ski, hike, run, and ride in the mountain air, this is your place. Our hand built mountain cabin, nestled in the Lincoln National Forest at the southernmost tip of the Sacremento Mountains, is elevated 6568ft above sea level. Our cabin takes center stage on 2-acres of undisturbed woodland that is totally serene and has views that will take your breath away. You can hike, walk, run or bike just outside the front door. You will experience complete silence which allows you to pray or meditate in peacefulness. If you are looking to escape to a cool place in the summer or a destination for possible snow in the winter, this is the perfect spot. The fully equipped kitchen has everything (and then some) you will need to prepare meals. The king room, located on the main level, has a WiFi tv and view of the Sacramento mountain range as well as private access to the deck. The queen room is also located on the main level. There is a dining room (with dining table) and living room (with plenty of seating) just off the kitchen. On the deck, that is just off the living room, you will have an additional table and chairs for outdoor eating. In addition to the full upstairs area, you will have complete access to the large downstairs den that has a WiFi tv, plenty of seating, and another full-size bathroom, complete with jacuzzi tub. There are 3 additional twin beds here. You can grill on the propane grill that is provided and build a campfire at the fire pit. The fire pit is located in an area just out the front door. It's a wonderful spot for grilling hot dogs or marshmallows over an open fire. Just a stone's throw away from the fire pit is our Rock Garden which is a beautiful sanctuary space. There is also a large flat outdoor area where you can play group games. Central heat and air cooler are in the cabin. A homemade cherry pie (or apple or pecan or strawberry....) with ice cream awaits you at The Apple Barn and is only 10 minutes away. You will pass this little gem on the way up the mountain to Cloudcroft, NM which is a short drive to a beautiful destination point. You can spend your day shopping along the old town boardwalk, eating at one of the local restaurants or just having coffee and homemade pastries at the local bakery. In the winter months, you can Ski Cloudcroft and ice skate at the rink in downtown Cloudcroft. There are many festivals, like the Cherry Festival or the Apple Festival throughout the year so check the schedule before you come to see what might be happening during your visit. Other than the shed and the area around the shed, you will have full access to the entire property. Our co-host, Mike, lives in Cloudcroft and will be available to help with any issues that may arise. Our cabin is equipped with Internet and WIFI but since our cabin is literally in the woods WIFI may at times be difficult to access. Please contact Michael if you have any issues with our internet service and he will contact the service provider immediately. There is also a land line phone for local calls and emergencies.
