Our comfortable family home is cosy yet spacious, in the heart of a pretty village tucked away in a tranquil row of 3 cottages. Perfect for children and safe for older ones to roam independently; a well equipped play park in the village green for younger ones. There's a tidal creek, great for swims, picnics, quay jumping, sailing. The welcoming village pub serves excellent food and there's a bakery and cafe. Regular buses to Falmouth and Truro. A superb location for getting around Cornwall. Our cottage is a family home, tranquil, homely and comfortable. We would like you to make yourselves at home and feel at ease while enjoying our beautiful county. The double bedroom has a superking sized bed and a calming view over the fields and creek. The single room has a memory foam mattress and is cosy and peaceful, perfect for a child or for another adult. 100% cotton bed linen and towels provided. The kitchen/dining room is usually the hub of the house, roomy and well equipped with an electric oven and back door opening out into the small back garden area, which is leafy and secluded, with table and chairs for outside eating. Both front and back gardens are peaceful sun traps and get the sun at different times of the day so there is always somewhere to sit outside. The pretty front garden has a garden bench and is very safe for children - the terrace is blocked off at the end so is not a thoroughfare; there are just 3 houses so you can park outside the house. The living room is peaceful and bright with two sofas, a TV with Netflix and catch up and a DVD player; there's a wood burner should you need it. The bathroom is well presented with a good shower, bath and constant hot water. There is one other living room space to spread out in. There is a washing machine available. Please don't expect the blandness of a holiday home; this is a family home, comfortable and welcoming in a very child friendly and wonderful location, very much in the original ethos of airbnb. So the sofa sags a little and you have to wash your own dishes! We use any airbnb money to improve the house. We have 2 cats who will be in the house, so this property only suits if you like cats. They are very easy and friendly, love children and lots of cuddles; they just eat dried food which I will leave for you to feed them. Easy and regular bus service from the village to the coast (Falmouth ) or town (Truro). Whole house and garden (excepting the spare bedroom which is currently used for storage). We will greet you and show you around. We can leave lots of info and ideas for you and have lots of chat before you arrive. We have lovely neighbours who will help you with anything needed if we are not nearby. I will leave cooking basics such as oil and herbs to save you getting these in. Our pretty village is friendly and safe for children. What attracted us to it in the first place was the chance for children to be a bit freer and safe rather than confined to playing in the back garden. There is a wonderful grassy village green with goalposts, picnic tables and new wooden play equipment (see photos) two minutes from our house. And there are always other friendly kids to meet and play with. The tidal creek is great to swim in with a quay for jumping in, kayaking, sailing and crabbing. The pub is welcoming with a varied and locally sourced menu. There is a village bakery (The Yummy Scrummy Bakery ) with a cafe. Regular buses to the coast (Falmouth) or town (Truro). We are at the start of an excellent cycle trail to Portreath on the North Coast. National Trust property Trelissick is very close by with The King Harry Ferry car and foot ferry for easy access to The Roseland Peninsula. There is an excellent shop, newsagents, off licence and butchers in the next village. We are set in a perfect location for exploring Cornwall - the surfy waves of the rugged north coast or the calmer waters of the south. There are hourly buses to Truro or Falmouth during the day and evening and a train station to Truro or Falmouth in the next village. Being situated between Truro and Falmouth, the wilder, surfy North Coast beaches such as beautiful St Agnes, Crantock or Perranporth or the calmer beaches of the South coast are easy to get to by car - a trip on the King Harry Ferry over to the Roseland Peninsula is fun for children. The National Trust's Trelissick Garden is very close; Glendurgan and Trebah Gardens are close as well. There is a superb coast to coast heritage cycle trail with bike hire, cafes and pubs en route beginning at Devoran and going all the way to Portreath on the North Coast along the old tram line. (2 adult bikes are available for you to use). We have two lovable and affectionate cats, Fox and Cookie. They love meeting all visitors and are easy to look after (dried food and water only). We have a cat flap and they are used to us being away.
