Relax and rejuvinate at Big Bluff. Wake up to kookaburras that announce the dawn and rolling mist on the mountain tops. A cuppa on the deck watching the hares dart past, or a spot in the Polaris to check the cattle before brekky. Big Bluff is a working cattle farm nestled in a hidden valley in the Border Ranges. It has a perfect playground, rolling lawns to run across and a purpose-built entertainment hut for tunes and tall tales. Choose from a bushwalk to look out over Mt Lindsay or follow the meandering creek. Connect with the land, and connect with the animals. Feed the chooks and collect the eggs, and just sit awhile and watch them. Catch up with a good book, switch off and let your mind to wander, or slow down and truly talk to your partner or your children. Rest. Relax. A spot of paddock cricket or boules, or try your hand at cooking damper over the campfire. Feel the air change as the sun dips below the horizon, setting the clouds alight with a myriad of colours, then relax in the Bull Ring with a beer or two. The Bull Ring has a dream playground attached - slide, cubby, climbing frames and swings - so it is the hub of the farm for everyone! Valley View sleeps six with a queen bed, two king singles in the second bedroom and a sofa bed in the lounge. It has a fully self-contained kitchen and two outdoor decks with magnificent views of the valley and surrounding hills. Guests are free to wander the 450 acre farm. Parts are hilly for a challenging hike, and other parts are flat for a leisurely stroll. When you arrive at Big Bluff we invite you to relax in the Bull Ring with a cuppa while we explain the farm: what we do here, and what you might like to do during your stay. You can decide on extras like a picnic hamper to take exploring, fishing in the dam or a damper cooking experience. Big Bluff is so close to the Border Ranges National Parks. Border Ranges National Park (31,683 hectares), a World Heritage listed rainforest park on the rim of a vast and ancient volcano, adjoins Lamington National Park in Queensland. It stretches 85 kilometres from east to west. It forms part of the caldera of the Mount Warning shield volcano, the largest caldera in the southern hemisphere. It can be viewed from a range of lookouts with bush walks and picnic areas. Border Ranges National Park has spectacular views, pristine rainforests, waterfalls plunging into deep gorges, sparkling creeks, steep scarps and rugged ridges. The nearest village is twenty minutes away for food and beverage supplies. The town of Kyogle is thirty minutes drive with a picturesque Art Deco Main Street, Saturday morning markets and local cafes and galleries. True luxury is the time to relax and connect with loved ones away from the noise and busyness of day-to-day life. Give your family the gift of a Big Bluff stay. From our farm-ily to yours!
