Situated on a peaceful half acre bush block in the heart of Perth’s Darling Ranges we play host to a variety of native wildlife including quenda, exotic birds, possums & during the winter months kangaroos. Wonderful location perfect for short bush walking expeditions, great amenities and a lovely deck for morning yoga and sipping coffee in the sun. This spacious, inviting home is the 'best of both worlds' base from which you can explore the beautiful Perth Hills, Swan Valley and surrounding countryside. Feels like you’re a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city but is actually only half an hour away. You’ll find your stay relaxing and comfortable with: • 5 x KING SIZE BEDROOMS one with ensuite; • Pool table • Federation style bathroom, with large, deep bath, shower and wash basin; • A huge lounge room with jarra wooden floors, comfy couches, flat screen TV, reverse cycle air conditioning, and wood burning fire (complimentary fire wood for 2/3 fires is supplied) • Access to our extensive and eclectic library of books, CDs and DVDs, cables ready for your Apple TV - there really is something for everyone (feel free to make use although we ask you to please return them when you’re done); • A fully equipped modern kitchen with Miele stove, oven and dishwasher. Tea and espresso coffee basics supplied, if you need additional items and are unable to source them yourself, let us know and we can make the necessary arrangements for you at your expense; • Washing machine and ironing facilities (detergent supplied); • Free unlimited WIFI and local call telephone; • Big outdoor decking area: with pool table, dining area, 6 burner BBQ and fire pit (fire pit is unavailable though summer or times of fire danger); • The 'bush' style garden is perfect for the kids to camp under the stars (tent supplied at no extra charge if requested) The garden is sometimes visited by kangaroos and is home to quenda, possums and a wide variety of birdlife; • Off-street parking for many cars, 1 x carport You have the exclusive use of the house. No other guests will be sharing the space with you. All 5 bedrooms are there for you to use as a single or double accomodation, however, if you do not require the use of all 5 bedrooms the smallest will remain locked, leaving the other 4 to use as you wish. Although we will leave instructions on how to use all of the amenities, if you have any questions or concerns, please call or sms and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. This property is located in the quiet residential neighbourhood of Gooseberry Hill, on a half acre ‘semi-bush’ style block. Gooseberry Hill is the closest rural ‘Perth hills' district to the city and is considered the most ‘up-market’. Gooseberry Hill is also notable for its close proximity to Kalamunda Village which, although small and charming, has all the amenities you may need including: Kalamunda Visitors Centre, a public library, supermarkets, pharmacies, hardware stores, pubs, a post office, medical centre, petrol station and a few good restaurants. All just 5 minutes drive away. There's something for everyone: • For walkers there’s Stirk, Kalamunda and Jorgensen Parks with plenty of walking trails. Kalamunda is also the official starting point of the famous Biblumen Track which stretches all the way to Albany 1000 kms south of Perth; • For mountain bikers there’s the Kalamunda circuit • For food and wine buffs there’s quick access to both Bickley Valley and the Swan Valley, offering plenty of award winning wineries and micro-breweries; • For shoppers, Sunday mornings in Kalamunda offers the Farmers Market from 8-12, and the first Saturday of each month there’s a craft market, and during the summer months there is the Kalamunda night market and Jazz in the Park • A 10 minute drive away is the excellent Kalamunda Water Park with its (truly) exciting water slides Olympic size outdoor poo and grassy areas for pic-nicking and catching some rays; We provide leaflets, maps and calendars, although if there is something we have missed, you’ll be able to find it at the Kalamunda Visitors Centre, just by the public library on Railway Road. Only 30 minutes from most parts of the Perth CBD (off peak) and 20 minutes drive from International Airport. There is a regular bus service if required. • All 5 bedrooms are there for your to use as required for either single or double accomodation, however, if you do not require the use of all 5 bedrooms we may keep bedroom 3 (the smallest) locked and leave the other four to use as you wish. • The breakfast we supply is intended as a basic 'welcome' breakfast and is enough for all guests for 2 nights. In the fridge and cupboards guests will find the following to consume if they wish: Tea / Coffee Milk Sugar / Sweetners Bacon Eggs 5 x Cereals Bread Fruit Bread Jams and Marmalade • Whilst using the deck areas during the hours of darkness we kindly ask that respect is shown to our neighbours by retiring to the house after 11:00pm and moderating noise.
