The Barn

Quiet location on the edge of Stourbridge. sleeps 4 people in 1 double bed and 2 singles. 2 bathrooms. Open plan with fully fitted kitchen. Full central heating and log burning stove. Washing machine. Ample parking for up to 3 cars and free wifi. The Barn is right next door to our house and while it is a great place for small family parties it is not suitable for late night parties. The Barn also has wired in smoke alarms, Kitchen fire blanket, liability insurance and carbon monoxide tester Within walking distance of the village of Wollaston and just 2 minutes from the nearest bus stop, yet surrounded by horse fields. The Barn is an open plan space with a double bed and shower room on a mezzanine level. On the ground level there is a twin bedded room with a bathroom. There is also a washing machine in the utility area. Although full central heating there is a log burner for cozy nights in front of the fire and many of of guests enjoy the use of our free to play Wurlitzer juke box with its classic choice of records. The Barn is totally private with its own front door, and a patio garden at the rear with a table and chairs. We have a large beautiful garden where guests can relax or socialise with social distancing in a designated area. The bridle path that runs alongside the property leads to open countryside and the canal Some guests we meet on arrival and departure, others have become friends who stay over and over again from literally all over the world. We live just next door and are on hand if guests have any questions about where to go, what to do. If the weather is fine and the BBQ lit then often guests join us in the garden but others choose to remain private, whatever. We have been renting this property out for over 20 years and everyone's different. It's in a quiet location but just 30 minutes from both Birmingham and Wolverhampton. The Barn is situated between the historic town of Stourbridge and the pretty village of Kinver in South Staffordshire. It is ideally situated for exploring the counties of Staffordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire. Stourbridge, famous for its glass making industry in the past has a variety of good pubs and restaurants within walking distance. The train station in Stourbridge connects us to Birmingham in 30 minutes and London in 90 minutes. Close to Bridgnorth too, of which King Charles 1st said " The finest view in all my Kingdom", a town which we regularly visit on Saturdays for the market. Similar distance to Bewdley, another riverside town which also has a good choice of Bars, Restaurants and quirky shops. The middle of England is filled with interesting places which constantly delight our visitors and add to our visitors book of what interests them. Harvington Hall with its secret priest holes and rich history (20 minutes away) Wightwick Manor and gardens a victorian home with a Pre-Raphaelite art collection (26 minutes) and Kinver Rock Houses (8 minutes). The Severn valley railway , the West Midlands Safari Park, Cadbury World and The Black Country Museum are all other places that our visitors love, with children or without. As the gates lead onto the bridle path,which began as a Roman track, the canal is just one minute away with beautiful walks or a cycle ride which shows natures splendor whatever the season, with fishing pools at Bells Mill fishery a 5 minute walk along the towpath. This Historic region of England has something whatever the season and whatever the weather Bus stops are just 3 minutes away for buses into Stourbridge. Birmingham airport is around 50 minutes away. New wood is a bluebell wood. Beautiful at any time of the year, it's extra special when the bluebells are out.
