Sam & Lola’s is an idyllic tropical hideaway in Sri Lanka’s deep south. We are located between two of the most beautiful beaches in south Sri Lanka, Hiriketiya and Pehebhiya, both of which are a short 5-10 minute walk away from the villas. The property is home to 2 individual private pool villas which have been lovingly designed by us and filled with carefully curated décor and furnishings. • THE VILLAS • The twin villas each feature a private outdoor plunge pool and deck; a king-sized bed complete with luxurious linen bedding; air-conditioning and ceiling fan; outdoor shower and en-suite bathroom with UV-filtered drinking water tap. Relax and enjoy a lazy afternoon in the comfort of the villa, or step outside for a quick dip in the shaded plunge pool. • THE GROUNDS • The grounds are adorned with lush tropical plants. There is an outdoor shower for a refreshing post-beach rinse. There are a total of 2 x 1-bedroom villas on the property (Villa Sam and Villa Lola). Each villa has a private en-suite bathroom and its own private plunge pool. Parking is available on request. Self check-in is available from a secure lock box on site. You may see our lovely staff, Chamari and Harsha, from time to time. They keep the property sparkling clean and are always smiling. Our pool cleaners may also stop by for any longer stays to ensure that the pool is in tip top shape for you. • THE LOCATION • Sam & Lola’s can be found in Dikwella town and is the perfect base for your trip if you are looking for some of the best surf beaches in Sri Lanka, easy access to beach cafes and restaurants and plenty of tropical views. • THE BEACHES • We are sandwiched between two of the most beautiful beaches in south Sri Lanka: Hiriketiya beach and Pehebhiya beach. Both beaches are within a 3-5 minute stroll, or hop in a tuk tuk if you’re in vacation mode. At Hiriketiya you’ll find a string of beach cafes and fun waves for beginner to intermediate surfers; the horseshoe-shaped bay is protected from wind and swell which makes it a perfect year-round swimming spot. Alternatively, venture over to Pehebhiya, a long sandy beach on the fringe of Dikwella town for crystal clear water and a picturesque beach swing. After a cooling dip in the Indian Ocean take your pick from a number of hip cafes for the perfect flat white. • THINGS TO DO • Culture vultures can immerse themselves in Sri Lanka’s rich cultural history and practices – visit nearby Buddhist temples, learn to cook local Sri Lankan cuisine, visit Galle Fort (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and explore a functioning tea plantation and factory. Wildlife enthusiasts are a short drive away from the world-famous Udawalawe and Yala national parks where you can observe wild elephants and leopards in their natural habitat. Where we are located allows easy access to numerous cafes, restaurants and beaches. You can get around on foot between the two bays, or hop in a tuk tuk (three-wheeler) to venture a little bit further. - Breakfast is not included. There is no on-site restaurant or dining facility, but there are many excellent restaurants and cafes within walking distance for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We are happy to share some local recommendations with you. - The property is not suitable for young children or infants due to the layout, and we are unable to provide cribs or extra beds at this time. - This is a no smoking property.
