Located at the end of a long road on a private acre, you will enjoy seclusion, peace and quiet for your special getaway. Sip your morning coffee on the forest view balcony off the bedroom or enjoy the birdsong and river views from the spacious deck. Snuggle up in the vaulted great room by the old-fashioned gas fireplace while taking in the view of the river and forest through the floor-to-ceiling picture windows. The fireplace will keep you warm as well as provide classic mountain ambiance. The small, yet fully-equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare a delicious meal. You will want to make the most of your evenings on the river-viewing deck with a glass of wine while cooking dinner on the gas BBQ. Finish off the evening sitting around the firepit or soaking in the private, outdoor hot tub. This one-bedroom, one-bathroom cabin is best-suited for visitors who wish to unplug. Late Check-in: If you expect to arrive for check-in after 6 PM, please call us by 5:30 so we can make arrangements to put your key, maps & directions in a lock box. Check-out is 11 AM. We ask that you return the key to our office. We can sometimes accommodate a late check-out; please contact us the morning of your departure to find out if that will be available. Parking: There is parking available for 2 vehicles on the gravel driveway; no RVs, campers or tents, please. As local residents in the Mt Hood community, our Guest Services team members, Betsy, Cari, Trish, Rysha and Benita live, play and work here. We know a lot about the area, activities, recreation, shopping and restaurants. If you have questions or would like assistance before or during your visit, we are here for you. If you want privacy and to be left alone, we will not call you or visit the vacation rental during your stay. However, if you are having any sort of issue with the vacation rental you are staying in, please call us and we will solve your problem over the phone if possible or send someone out to the home if needed to get things right for you. Our Property Care team, Andy, Phil, Jimmie, Deb, Amy and Hunter are also here to make sure everything is clean and in working order in your vacation rental. Mt Hood Vacation Rentals is a locally owned and operated vacation rental management company with an office in Welches. We are open every day of the year except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Our office hours are Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 6 PM and weekends, 10 AM - 6 PM. We have an after-hours phone that you can use to reach one of our team members when the office is not open. The Riverwood Hideaway is at the end of a long driveway on more than an acre of land along the Sandy River. You will be surrounded by the forest in a secluded setting, which is perfect for a quiet vacation. You can walk to the Brightwood Store for last-minutes items you might need. You will be just a few minutes to Zigzag and Welches where you will find stores, restaurants, a gas station and more. The Sandy Ridge Bike Trails are just a couple of miles from the cabin. You will be just a few minutes' drive to dozens of miles of hiking trails, several mountain lakes and 3 major rivers as well as several restaurants and stores. Mt Hood Skibowl is 12 miles from the cabin, Timberline Ski Area is 18 miles and Mt Hood Meadows is 24 miles. There is a world-class 27-hole golf course 4 miles from the cabin. You will need a car to get around the Villages of Mt Hood, to hiking trails and recreation, restaurants and stores. For public transportation, there is the Mt Hood Express bus that travels along Timberline Road, Government Camp Loop Road, Highway 26 and Welches Road, from Timberline to Government Camp and Mt Hood Skibowl and on to Rhododendron, Zigzag, Welches and Brightwood with stops along Highway 26 and then back up to Timberline. The cost is only $2 per person each way. Mt Hood is about a 1-hour drive from Portland International Airport. During the winter months you will need 4WD and traction tires or devices to get around Mt. Hood. Street parking is not permitted or available at this vacation rental. There is a maximum number of vehicles permitted to be parked at this vacation rental. The Villages of Mt Hood is a 4-seasons area with a variance in weather from month-to-month throughout the year. If you have not been here before, we are happy to assist you in knowing what to bring for the time of year you will be visiting. Mt Hood Vacation Rentals offers discounted lift tickets for Timberline to all of our guests. You do not need to pre-purchase the lift tickets; you can buy them each day when you decide where you want to go. We also have Northwest Forest Passes for summer recreation and Sno-Park Permits for winter available for sale in our office. There are lots of tall mountains and trees in the area (probably the reason you are coming here) that can block or limit cell service. Due to weather and other events beyond our control, you may find your phone, WiFi, and TV service to be non-operational. We also experience occasional power outages due to weather conditions during the winter. We will always work with the utility companies to get everything back up and running for you as quickly as possible. There is a land line phone in the cabin for you to use. Dogs are welcome to join you at the Riverwood Hideaway. Airbnb does not include dog charges in the rental rate. We will collect $25/night plus tax after you book your reservation. Airbnb does not collect the Clackamas County Room Tax of 6% so we have included it in the rent.
