Right on Main Street , this spacious, remodeled loft occupies the top two stories of the building and has spectacular river side and mountain views. The bottom floor is home to Yuba Expeditions, host to the Downieville Classic and where mountain bikers catch the shuttle for the Downieville Downhill. Originally built in 1867, the "Weaver" building, as it is known in the county, was completely remodeled in 2005. The third story, originally storage for the store, was remodeled into rental loft accommodations complete with hand made furniture and trim salvaged from Kezar stadium bleachers in San Francisco. The loft sleeps up to eight guests in three queen size beds and three trundle beds in a loft style space -- not great for romantic couples but GREAT for large groups of friends or bike buddies. •In the heart of Downieville overlooking the "swimming hole" at the Forks and the park. •2700 feet of living space over 2 levels. •Loft overlooks Main St. on one side and the Downie and North Fork of the Yuba rivers on the other side. •Eight full sized skylights in attic look out towards the mountains. •"Great Room" has two story views of mountains and river with exposed beam ceiling. •Sheets and towels provided. •3 queen sized beds, two sleeper sofas, 3 twin trundles that slide out from the wall. •Giant, well equipped kitchen overlooking the river. •Easy parking. •The back of the building is the "taking off" point for the rafting trips on the North Yuba and for the shuttle to the Downieville Downhill mountain bike trail. •Excellent summer swimming and fishing within steps of the building (ask about the best swimming holes). •TV available with AppleTV and BlueRay DVD Player (no cable) •Stereo system that hooks up with your IPOD. •Two fireplaces (one on each level). •5 minute walk to anywhere in Downieville (restaurants, shops, bars, wine tasting, etc) yet very private. •Large library of fiction and non fiction. •Now featuring wireless internet access with AppleTV •Charcoal BBQ We have no personal interaction with guests, as we live in San Francisco, but there is some interaction to be expected with Yuba bike shop downstairs, and we do ask guests to respect their business and to be aware that there is inevitably some noise to be expected from a busy bike shop with shuttles and people coming in and out.
