A beautiful cottage set halfway down Clovellys famous high street.The village is free from all vehicular traffic on its steep cobbled street, where the only sounds you will hear are footsteps or the donkeys hooves upon the cobbles.We are still a working fishing village catching lobster, crab and herrings. The south west coast path passes through the village , to the west is Mouthmill , a small inlet with the spectacular Black church rock formation. Harbour cottage dates from the 14 century (1361) and is still traditionally heated by a solid fuel Aga & wood burners. the front garden is an award winning garden of camellias, roses and various flowers. Our cosy dog friendly room is situated on the ground floor which has garden and street views. We provide dressing gowns for your stay , Tea & coffee making facilities & Wifi are also provided . Dog bowls & dog towels can be supplied on request. We only allow a maximun of 2 dogs in this room. Both shared bathrooms are on the first floor. There are 4 letting rooms providing space for up to 8 guests with Harbour or street views. Please see our other listings to ensure you are booking either a street view, Harbour view or the dog friendly room. If you are booking this room but not bringing a dog , please first do so through an enquiry so we can discount the rate accordingly. There is a breakfast room, 2 shared bathrooms and a front garden with seating. Clovelly is a unique village as it is traffic free, apart from the donkeys & sledges. At the top of the village you can visit Clovelly court gardens & church. Beyond the visitors center you can visit the donkeys and workshops, these include candle & soap making , pottery & textiles. The village has several churches, a museum, two pubs , a restaurant ( requires pre booking ), gift shop and an art gallery. Down in the Harbour at high tide boat trips and fishing trips are available . a short walk along the beach brings you to the waterfall. Buses run frequently from the visitors centre car park, except on Sundays, Please check the time tables Dogs must be kept on a lead in the village. Please note that the high street is very steep, this is not suitable for persons with mobility issues, wheel chairs , etc. Dogs must be kept on a lead. Please note if you have arranged a luggage transfer to & from the village , this is only to the visitors centre. we will charge an additional £5.00 each way to collect /return to the visitors centre.
