Samskara & Samsara, Lansdowne - Family Room

Stay in Lansdowne but stay away from the ruckus of whatever tourist seasoning brings in by being tucked in the mountains perfectly with the views that will surround you and the silence that will haunt you. Its in a renovated home stay, renovated intentionally to encourage visitors. A Common Terrace Lounge, a book shelf. Badminton court with rackets will be provided. So as a traveler myself my chances are less to be available at the property. But as we are on the developing phase I am here for the moment available to offer all information and help my hosts need. Situated in the countryside and not main Lansdowne Cantonment, there are around three other local houses on the hillock, where you can often ask for organic vegetables and cook your meals. There are small shops at 5 minutes walk where you get basic necessities like vegetables, toiletries, chocolates, etc. The trek from the Home stay is 20 mins to lansdowne with beautiful valley views. The Closest Railway Station is Kotdwara where trains leave from Delhi twice in the day. Due to a bridge mishap you might have to catch a train to najibabad (30 kms before), which has an easy access. You catch a bus to kotdwar from delhi (AC buses available) from where you will get a shared jeep / personal cab to the homestay which is a 35 km (1 hour) hilly ride. In the evenings after 5 pm there are few chances of getting a shared cab or bus to lansdowne from kotdwara or from homestay to Lansdowne so plan your arrivals accordingly.
