Come and find peace in a picturesque Devonshire village. Our house is a working home that we live in when we are not renting it out. It's a calm and relaxing getaway set in the beautiful village of Swimbridge and only a few miles from Saunton, Croyde, Westward Ho! and other main beaches. Hopefully you'll find it a home from home. It is a 1-2 minute walk to our pretty local country pub, The Jack Russell. N.B. DUE TO COVID, WE WILL NOW BE RENTING OUT THE ENTIRE HOUSE. IT IS STILL OUR HOME SO GUESTS WILL BE WELCOME TO USE THINGS, BUT WE WILL BE STAYING NEARBY. We can offer you a slice of a rural Devon lifestyle, with lovely views across the valley. We are 200 metres from a nice country pub with good food and hospitality. But within just minutes, you can be in the main towns of Barnstaple and South Molton, both full with shops, cafes, restaurants, and markets. We will supply a buffet breakfast. This is a selection of healthy & natural foods and will usually includes local farm eggs, muesli, cereals, croissants, fresh fruit, toast/bread & butter, local Devon honey, jams & marmalade and juice and milk. There is also a selection of tea, herbal teas and cafetiere coffees. Kitchen and living room windows overlook the garden, and a small orchard. A cosy wood-burning stove warms the house in winter evenings. We have a books on travel, health, wellbeing, and novels you can borrow. We have sun terraces to the back and front of the house. You are welcome to enjoy the peace and quiet in the garden with a glass of wine or gin and tonic! We are both very friendly people and love to meet new people, however we also understand that people coming for a break away may be needing peace and quiet so we respect that. We love the outdoors, nature, sports and good food and other creative pursuits. We also make our own cider in our little orchard. We have a little cat that you can spend some time with. We can help give you details of local sports such as clay pigeon shooting, surfing, falconry walks, sea-kayaking, horse-riding and much more. If you need anything at all, we are here to help. Swimbridge is a picturesque little Devon village. All who visit the village love it. A lovely pub, and a beautiful church which is well worth a visit. Swimbridge is the village where the Jack Russel dog originated! Check out the Jack Russell trail before going to the pub! If you are here on certain days, you can watch the village skittles team playing next to the pub, a really traditional old sport to watch! There are miles of scenic walks and we are minutes from Exmoor. There are several other good pubs and restaurants serving local produce, just a short drive away. By car it is easy and for those that take a bus, the bus stop is 50 metres away and regular buses go into Barnstaple or South Molton. The nearest train station is Barnstaple- 3 miles away with regular trains to Paddington and Waterloo via Exeter. There is safe on-street parking at the house, next to the gorgeous village church. If you need extra towels, toiletries etc. we can supply these. 1 or 2 dogs at our discretion: £5 per night
