Exploring Akoonah Park Market (just 3 minutes from Berwick Lodge) is a great way to spend a Sunday morning, offering home made toys & jams, fresh produce, great food & coffee, fresh baked bread, homewares and antiques. Berwick was the home of Edwin "Teddy" Flack, Australia's first Olympian and gold medal winner at the inaugural Athens Olympic Games, so its fitting that there are plenty of sporting facilities in the area, including public tennis courts & public pools. Golfers can play at the Berwick-Montuna Golf Club on Emerald-Beaconsfield Road, Guys Hill, just a 6 minute drive away. Westfield Fountain Gate is 8 minutes away. Kitchen / Dining The open plan kitchen area and dining room look over the gas fire place with comfy leather couches, making the perfect setting for memorable gatherings with family and friends. The warm tones, beautiful décor and ceiling lights create a welcoming ambiance for dining and drinking. Guests can enjoy meals at the dining table with food freshly prepared from the fully-equipped kitchen designed for a care-free self-catering holiday. Living room, Formal Lounge & Reading room The living room boasts a gas fireplace, rustic leather couches and a 50 inch / 127cm UHD LED LCT Smart TV. A perfect games room for cooler nights, but for summer time, sliding doors open the whole room up onto the outdoor barbecue area. Glass doors lead through to a reading room with blue velvet chaise lounge & stocked bookcase, and then through to a sitting room with couch, armchairs and coffee table for a parents retreat. Master Bedroom and Study The master bedroom is situated through a small study, with desk, mirror & fireplace, for those that can’t always escape work. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed, windows that look out over the garden, a walk in closet and beautifully appointed ensuite. Front Bedroom This bedroom features a lovely bay window overlooking the front gardens, housing an artist’s painting table. The bunk bed features a double bed on the base and a single up above. Kids Bedroom This flexible and family-friendly room features a bunk bed for kids, with an additional bed that can be pulled out from the bunk to sleep 3. Bathrooms Bathrooms are charmingly decorated, modern & fully equipped. The main bathroom has a gorgeous free standing bath and large shower. Laundry Laundry facilities are provided for with a washing machine and dryer. Outdoor spaces and terraces Sliding doors lead from the living room to the garden and BBQ area. The large balcony is the perfect place to curl up with a book, roll out your yoga mats or indulge in some sundowners. Pool The 8 metre fenced pool is open. It’s a lovely way to cool off in summer but note it is not heated. The spa is heated & open year round. Parking and access Convenient off-street under cover parking is available for 2 cars. There is additional space for street parking. Your host will be available to answer any questions throughout your stay. The pool will discreetly be cleaned 3 times a week.
