The Six Arches Mansion - " THE DAISY DWELLING"

The "Daisy Dwelling" is declared as ancient monument dated in 1929. It is in the central square of the unique village of Pera Oreinis-Nicosia district- Cyprus.The house has a kitchenette/dining area & living room with 2 sofabeds, 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. There is a patio shared with the Poppy Dwelling with trees and stoneovens, and a semi-outdoor area.The 1st floor bedroom has a babycot and opens to a balcony facing the village square, and to a veranda with view to the patio and the hills. General description / sleeping arrangements / bedrooms: Ground floor: Kitchen - Living room / Common area: On the groundfloor there is a kitchenette & dining area with wooden glassdoors facing an ambient patio which is shared with the Poppy Dwelling. The kitchen/dining area is in a common space with a living room. In the living room there is a couch-bed (140cm width), and a beautifull built-in divan/sofa which can accomodate another person to sleep. Bedroom 1: The living room opens into a "wine cellar" with antique big clay jars. Next to the cellar there is a double bedroom (1) with a bathroom (with a bathtap), which is shared with the people sleeping in the livingroom. This bedroom 1, has a beautifull traditional double bed and direct access to a covered-outdoor veranda framed with a stone arch facing the courtyard. First floor - Double bedroom 2: A contemporary staircase leads from the "wine cellar" with the jars, to the spacious bedroom 2, with a double bed. This bedroom has also a baby cot, a study area aith a bookcase. One door from this bedroom opens to a wooden balcony to the east facing the village square and nother door opens to the west into a covered veranda framed with a stone arch, overlooking the courtyard. On the veranda there are two wooden chaise long beds. From this verabda, a wooden external staircase comes down to the patio. A third door leads from bedroom 2 to a children single bedroom (3) which is adjacent to a shared bathroom (with a bathtap). Double bedroom 3: The above bedroom 2 is connected with a children's bedroom 3, which has a single bed and amost beautifull vaulted structure (for meditation if desired). Bedroom 3 is linked to a spacious bathroom shared with bedroom 2. To the common areas: kitchen/living room, patios and semi-outdoor spaces. Welcoming visitors to the house, handing them over the keys and giving to them information and guidance about the place and Cyprus. The village has a population of 1250 inhabitants, it is built on the Pedhieos river bank (dry most time of the year), which has nature trails and bicycle routes. The village is 400 m. above sea level, 15km from the capital city of Nicosia, 48 km from the beautiful beaches of Maroni – Zygi area, 2.5 km from Ayios Eracleidios Monastery [8th century AC] and 16km from Machairas monastery, which is in second position in terms of prestige in Cyprus. The mountain walks on the fantastic Nature Trails of the Machairas mountains offer spectacular views over Nicosia and across to coastal hills. Pera is situated near Tamassos dam about one hour walking distance across the Pedhieos river. The Metropolis Tamasos and Oreinis is one of the oldest dioceses of Cyprus as the first bishop of Saint Heracleidios ordained by the apostles Barnabas and Paul in the year 45 AD. Pera Oreinis is seven minutes away by car (3.4 km) from the archaeological site of Tamassos. Tamasos was one of the most important city kingdoms of Cyprus the large archaeological site has unearthed the temple of Aphrodite, two majestic royal tombs, as well as several smaller ones Part of the city’s fortifications and copper-processing installations, whilst excavations have also brought to light copper workshops associated with Aphrodite - Astarte, and six oversized limestone statues dating back to the 6th century BC, when Cyprus was under Egyptian rule. I minute walk from the house there is a spacious public parking place. There is also bus connection to Nicosia to other surrounding villages and Nicosia the Cyprus capital city.
