Converted rural stone cottage, Swansea
The cottage is a newly converted farm building on a smallholding in Swansea, where you can enjoy peace and privacy with panoramic views across fields to the Gower. You can step out of the door to enjoy mountain walks and wildlife. The Lliw resevoirs and Cwm Clydach nature reserve are in walking distance as is the village and local pubs that serve food. We offer secure storage for bicycles and the area is renown by keen cyclists. Swansea, Mumbles and the Gower beaches are a short drive away. The cottage has 2 bedrooms. One is downstairs with a double bed, wardrobe and drawers with quirky shelves and stone walls. The other is on the mezzanine level with a picture window with panoramic views of the fields, mountains and sea. Downstairs is a welcoming living/kitchen area with a fully equipped kitchen with a cooker, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is complimentary tea, coffee and sugar and a small bottle of milk and a cake will be ready to revive you after your journey. The sofa is sumptuously comfortable and the sideboard is stocked with board games and a few books, including a book on British birds and a pair of binoculars for watching the red kites from the bedroom window. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink with towels and shower gel provided. Outside the backdoor is a small courtyard planted with fragrant herbs and flowers with an outdoor table and chairs and again with views over open fields ideal to watch the sunset. There is a parking space right outside the front door which brings the car off the roadside and is handy for transferring luggage or for when it rains! A second car can be parked in our large driveway and a refundable £40 deposit will give you a key fob for the electric gate - the goose and ducks will be roaming about but ignore you if you ignore them! A car is necessary for site seeing and getting about to shops . We live on the smallholding so are available to guests staying in the cottage. I will give guests my mobile number so that I can be contacted with any queries. The cottage is on a mountain overlooking Swansea, Mumbles, the Gower and over to Glynneath . There are walks over the mountain and into the village and down to the Nature reserve. Swansea is 9 miles away with it's beachfront and retail and dining opportunities. Mumbles is 4 miles further with it's pier, prom and ice cream parlours. From here you can access Gower and the fabulous beaches of Langland, Caswell, Three Cliffs, Port Eynon, Rhossilli and many more. The mountain road takes you over the common to Ammanford and into historic Carmarthenshire with Aberglasney house and gardens, Carreg Cennen castle and Druslwyn castle all easily accessible. The pretty market town of Llandeilo is 15m away with its independent shops and Dinefwr castle and House well worth a visit.
