Cozy hilltop retreat with midcentury decor

Perched on top of a hill in the countryside between Bologna and Modena, this lodge is a great location for exploring the area. It's a peaceful place, with panoramic views and the convenience of having excellent local restaurants (& wine makers) nearby. The house is decorated with mid century design & furniture. The house has four bright double rooms. Every room has private en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, flat screen tv and and a view on the surrounding hills and countryside. Every bed in the house is a double bed (size is 160x200 centimeters) with high quality foam mattress. Two rooms open onto a terrace overlooking the valley. At the ground floor you have a big dining hall, lounge, a kitchen and a spacious garden patio. The 4 sleeping rooms are at the first floor. We live in the same villa, but in a different apartment located in the north side of the building. The villa is not secluded. It is part of a "country neighborhood" so other houses are a few steps from our place. WHERE WE ARE We are 15 minutes drive from the main Bologna motorway exit of Casalecchio and from Bologna city center. We are located in the peaceful countryside on the gentle panoramic hills above the noise and heat of the city. You can reach Modena in an half an hour; Ferrara, Ravenna, Florence are daytrip you might consider using our place as a base; Venice is at about 1 hr and half from Bologna (both by car or by train). We are in the middle of the hilly countryside. If you need a bank, a supermarket, a gelateria, a bar you have to go to the closest village, 4 kilometers from our place. A wide range of gorgeous restaurants are at a few minutes drive (between 2 minutes and 15 minutes) Until 2020 we used to operate as B&B but at the moment dont serve breakfasts. This said we will happy to fill the kitchen with everything you might need for good breakfasts. Please let us know in advance if you require this. A Lavazza coffee machine (with its capsules) is available in the kitchen. Please inquire us with any question you might have, we'll be happy to help you! Parking is freely available in our safe dead end street. There is plenty of place here, so you can easily park (whether you have a van or a car) in front of the house and walk in. Despite being perched upon a hill, the road to here is large and easy to drive. My family and I we live in the north side of the building (we stay in an indipendent apartment). I will serve breakfasts every morning (if you take this option) and we'll be happy to offer help anytime throughout your stay. HOW TO REACH US Basically you need a car (a vehicle) to reach us, public transport not being at a walkable distance (buses and suburban trains are at 4 or 8 kilometers from the house and on sunday service is very weak). This said , we might be able to offer a pick-up service from the train station or from the airport.
