This is a early 1900's waterfront farmhouse with lots of character and vintage charm. Glassed in front porch allows you to kick back and enjoy the picturesque views of Mystery Bay in any weather. We have fast wifi and a blue ray player. Three wonderful parks close by , two within one mile. We are 16 miles to the beautiful seaport city of Port Townsend, known for music, dining, art galleries, parks etc. We are about 20 minutes to Port Ludlow and 30 minutes to 7 cedars casino 40 to Sequim. This house has two bedrooms with queen beds. The third bedroom is actually a converted utility room that has a twin bed with a memory foam mattress topper. This room actually has the best view, and a private 1/4 bathroom. It is separated from the main house by the entry hall. So it is the most private. The kitchen comes stocked with hopefully everything you might need to cook with, including cork screws and both a drip coffee maker and an espresso maker. Or you might choose to walk next door to the wonderful Nordland General store that has an espresso bar and a wonder selection of wine and craft beer. They also have goat cheese made at the Mystery bay farm also adjacent to our property. Fort Flagler state park is about 2 1/2 miles away and East Beach and Mystery Bay park is less than a mile. East Beach park does not require a pass and is one of the nicest beaches around for walking. All of the house and yard is available for your use except for the attic. I do offer free laundry service of two or three loads for guests staying over three days. I love my neighborhood. Walking into the Nordland General store next door is like stepping back in time. The wood plank floors are worn with a hundred years of patrons footsteps. There are d.v.d.s to rent and there is an honor library where you can grab a book to read. You can buy a steaming hot mocha from the espresso bar, or a whidbey island ice cream bar and sit out on the bench on the store dock and enjoy the picturesque views. They also have kayak rentals. There is no public bus that comes to our little island, but there is one that runs from Port Hadlock. There are no major car rentals nearby, but there is a car dealer that rents out cars, and I have heard he is pretty reasonable, but that you need to bring your own evidence of insurance. I have a scavenger hunt for the kids, with a small prize at the end. The kids love it. They also enjoy going up the driveway a very short distance to pet the goats from the goat farm that are normally in the fence next to the road. When this house was built the average height of a man was 5'4". Even though the ceilings are 9' the doors to the bathrooms and pantry are 5'11. So if you are taller than that you will have to duck. This house is wonderful though, with awesome views, nearby parks, boat rental next door or you can use our private beach to park your smaller boat. The Mystery bay park is less than a mile away and has a wonderful dock for mooring larger boats. While I want my guests to have a vacation they will always remember and hopefully want to come back to, I also need to keep my wonderful neighbors happy. My closest neighbor is an R.N. nurse that has to up by 4.a.m. If you are out by the fire late, or return late I would appreciate keeping the volume down. If you have little ones, or just like goats, the little girl from the goat dairy next door is trying to earn money for horse back riding lessons. For only $5.00 she will bring her goat on a leash down for the kids to pet and feed treats. Sadly she has had to stop this until the Covid pandemic is over.
