The (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) 's cottage is situated next to our working dairy farm and idyllic if you like mooing, chirping and twit twoos (resident barn owl family living in the barn opposite the cottage). The quiet, good-sized private garden is south facing and has rolling fields behind it with access to country walks. A hot tub on the patio and plenty of space for barbequing and eating al fresco on the patio. The garden is fenced so safe for small children and dogs. Off road parking (2 cars max). Free WiFi. If you would like to book without the hot tub option, message me and I will offer a reduced rate. There's a spacious lounge with a wood burner and a family sized kitchen/dining room with everything you need. It is set up for families with high chair, travel cot, stair gate and plastic tableware - (pre-arrange the high chair or travel cot). To note, the bunk beds are 2 ft 6 inches width, not suitable for a larger adult guest. The cottage is very cosy and warm with oil fired central heating, wood burner and plenty of hot water. There is an electric shower over the bath with hand shower taps. The cottage has a quirky vibe and is a lovely place to recharge your batteries in a rural setting. We also take longer stays. We accept a maximum of 2 dogs but you must message first as it is on a case by case basis. The full cottage, gardens front and back plus drive. No parking at the front of the property as it is still part of the farmyard and a farm access but there is plenty of room on the drive for up to 2 cars. Contact is through AirB&B unless it is an absolute emergency and our mobile numbers are in the property manual. The cottage is located in a fairly quiet village with a well-stocked shop, farm-shop and 2 good local pubs serving food. (one is an Indian restaurant). There is lots of public footpath walks in the local area. You can catch the No. 61 bus from the A583 which goes to Blackpool or Preston. The bus stops are in 5-10 minutes walk and you can cross safely if you need to get the Preston bus across from the Bell and Bottle. The Villager bus (think it’s 75) from the shop (5 minutes walk) takes you around the local villages and into Kirkham. Kirkham train station is 10 minutes away by car. Kirkham taxis are our local firm (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) We are 5 minutes from the A583 which is a quick link to the beach at Lytham St Annes, Blackpool tourist attractions and Preston City. Ideal stay over if going to Lytham Proms Festival week. We are 45 minutes from the Lake District and the Ribble Valley. Beacon Fell country park and Brock Bottoms are 20 minutes away, near the Trough of Bowland. The historic city of Lancaster is 30 minutes. Ribby Hall Spa and Leisure park is 5 minutes down the road. The famous Guild Wheel Cycleway is very close by and a very flat and accessible route and can stop off at the Brockholes Wetlands Nature Centre. If you want to bring a dog, please message me before booking as it’s on a case by case basis, with a maximum of 2 dogs and no puppies. We provide a dog towel, spare food and drink bowls and you can clean dirty paws at the outside tap. We don’t provide a dog bed or cage. Dogs are not allowed upstairs and if there’s an excessive amount of dog hair upstairs on the beds, I am afraid that you will be charged an extra cleaning fee! If they are used to jumping on the settee, please do not allow unless you bring your own dog throw as scratching paws damage the leather settee, we hope you understand. If you need the travel cot, high chair or fan, please let us know beforehand so I can set them up for you. A wood basket is provided for the stove or fire pit.
