Welcoming atmosphere, local walks, drives to the Dolomites, Venice beaches, and the preAlps Prosecco zone. Multicoloured autumn, chilly winter (sauna and log burner). Picturesque rustic cottage (built in the 1700s) at 1 km from the lovely lakes and hills of Revine, at 15 km from the Dolomites, and 15 minutes from the cultural cities of Vittorio Veneto (east) and Conegliano (south). It is 65 minutes from Venice. The area is rural and the house is very quiet (the chapel bells toll on the hour from 7 till 21). The house has 2 quite large double bedrooms and one small bedroom with a bunk bed. The house is cosy, on three levels (each about 45 sqm): the ground floor (kitchen, dining/TV area) has original beams while the rest is tastefully renovated inside, while keeping all the original charm. The middle floor has the master bedroom, bathroom and an infrared sauna for 2. The attic floor has a double bedroom, single bedroom and toilet with shower/toilet/bidet/sink. There is ample wardrobe space, a washing machine (not fully-automatic), TV (Italian channels) and wi-fi. Bed linen and towels are included in the price. To do Come to Nogarolo to enjoy a slower pace: in summer, the lakes, walks, paragliding, Giro d'Italia (2017); in autumn, the novello wine, chestnuts fairs; in winter, the walks on crisp days to the mountain opposite. November tends to be the only rainy month. Always with great local food and wine. You need a car as there is no public transport; a short drive takes you to a wealth of interesting places, while in an hour will you're in the heart of the Dolomites (walks, skiing) or on Venice island. If you have not heard of Montello or Asolo, you must visit them! The closest vineyard/restaurant/winery is just 8 mins' walk from the house. Taste and buy the Veneto wines (Refrontolo, Prosecco, Cartizze). The zones of Cartizze and Valdobbiadene are 30 mins' drive while in autumn the valley comes alive with chestnut feasts. The biggest is in the village of Combai (20 minutes). The Venetian Prealps are perfect for: - Walking: from the house or by car, you are spoiled for choice. Local maps available in the house and routes provided by email after booking confirmation; - Cycling: for both MTB and road cycling, there is a full choice of trails and roads for all tastes and fitness levels; guests have written their appreciation! The hardest climb is up the opposite mountain or Passo San Boldo. Incredible road build in WWI as an emergency connection; - Paragliding and hang-gliding: we are 20 minutes from the take-off mountain (you can see the site from house) and 3 minutes from the lakeside landing strip. In the summer, a swim afterwards ends the day to be remembered for a lifetime. This site is the best in the Prealps (uncrowded take-off zone and perfect thermals). - Swimming/Fishing: the Revine lakes (2 mins), the River Piave (30 mins) and Lago di Santa Croce (20 mins) - Skiing: 35 minutes' from Nevegal winter ski resort (slopes for all and economical prices); - Running: hilly environment and lots of trails. The Treviso marathon ((EMAIL HIDDEN) starts from Vittorio Veneto; the Venice marathon ((URL HIDDEN) starts near Padova. Revine Lago is a well-known venue for national triathlon events. - Culture: Lots of information on the local sites of interest. Hiring a car is essential as no bus connections come through this paradise! But you're just 8 minutes' drive from the nearest motorway (Vittorio Veneto Nord). Local amenities: restaurant/pub in the village. Nearest shops 4 mins by car. Parking: in the village, not security-locked (the village is not subject to crime!) Welcome pack with list of local tried and tested local "agriturismi" (farm taverns/restaurants). Other: some lovely guests (in 2014) said they found the house smaller than in the photos, so to be clear: the house has three floors, each about 35-40 sqm each. The sleeping arrangements are good however the size of the small upstairs bedroom is such that it's really for children only. So great for 2 couples plus two children but not for 3 couples. I look forward to your contact, Ivor Guests have the keys to the house and all amenities. A small patio outside my part of the house is for guests to use for evening drinks. I reply to inquiries within 2 hours usually. I am available for check-in and to help you with maps and advice on local amenities but I can't always be here for check-out (I live 45 mins' drive from Nogarolo). I trust the guests to leave the keys and the house closed (windows etc.). The municipality has precise rules on waste collection days and containers so I must ask guests to kindly put their rubbish into the labelled containers and leave them either outside in the lane (below the kitchen window) on the days required, or inside the house, closed, when they leave. Thank you. Very pretty. Beautiful picturesque walks, drives trails and cycle routes (MTB and road). Paragliding school at 15 minutes offering "tandem" flights with instructor from the mountain opposite: a once-in-a-lifetime experience of flying above the valley and lakes for 40 minutes. Own transport is a must with a lot to do locally, whether drives or active things. Local wineries sell quality prosecco at 4-5 euro a bottle and great-value restaurants and taverns abound. I have a file document of information on the house and things to do in the area (local restaurants, how to reach Venice etc., link to with walks, drives).
