6-bedroom luxury gite with pool

This is an old, stone farmhouse in a small village in eastern France. The house was renovated in 2017 as a very comfortable holiday home for up to 8 people. The adjacent barn was renovated in 2021 to provide 2 extra bedrooms. In the house there are 4 bedrooms, 3 shower-rooms and a bathroom. The ground floor, which includes a bedroom and a shower-room, is wheelchair-accessible all the way out to the terrace. In the barn there is a dining-room (with kitchen) for 12, 2 bedrooms and a shower-room. There is a large terrace, accessible from the sitting-room and the garden. The terrace has three large sofas, a dining-table for 10 and an outdoor kitchen. The large inside kitchen has the facilities - 3 ovens, 2 hobs, 3 sinks - to allow several people to cook together comfortably. There's a private swimming-pool with deck-chairs, a shower and a cafe table and chairs. The pool is fairly shallow, so suitable for less confident swimmers. It's not heated but the retractable roof captures the sun's heat well so it's generally usable May through September. We, your hosts, live off site but only a kilometre a way so we will happy to help you enjoy your stay without getting in your way. The area is fairly hilly and is strewn with small green fields, numerous small woods and rushing streams. There are beautiful views wherever you turn. It's good cycling country (if you don't mind hills) but you'll probably need a car if you want to visit any town or the local historic sites, markets or summer festivals. The house is in a quiet part of rural France so be prepared to relax. There are no food shops in the village. However, there are several large towns within 50 km and the local small town, La Clayette, which is only a 10 minute drive away, can meet most of your practical needs. In La Clayette (pronounced ‘La Clette’) there are six restaurants, several bars and cafes, four supermarkets, a butchers, five boulangerie, a pâtisserie, a cheese shop and a chocolatier. There is a good range of shops selling everything else you might need.
