La Violette, a gite with a view

La Violette is a characterful and well equipped 2 bedroom gite converted from a 19th century Aveyron barn. Views from both the gite and the large heated pool over open countryside are stupendous, with the villages of Broquies and Villefranche de Panat with their shops, post offices, etc, only 2 and 10 minutes away. A perfect place for a relaxing holiday for couples, friends or families in this hidden French gem, with lots of sporting activities and sightseeing opportunities in the area. A converted Aveyron barn retaining lots of original features but with 21st century facilities, including satellite TV and DVD, wifi, dishwasher and washing machine. Guests share a 10m x 5m heated swimming pool with the guests in our other gite (maximum of 6) and also have access to extensive gardens, a pétanque court, outdoor games room and bikes. The gite has a small terrace perfect for an early morning cuppa or pre-dinner drinks and a large private terrace with barbecue. The other space - pool, garden (with large BBQ), etc - are shared with the guests of our other gite. We live in the farmhouse just across the courtyard so are available when required, but the gites are fully self-contained. We also offer a four course table d'hote meal on arrival or at other times if required. We are located in the beautiful Tarn Valley only minutes from the lively villages of Broquies and Villefranche de Panat. The River Tarn is 5 minutes away and the large lake of Villefranche de Panat with its beaches and sporting activities is 12 minutes away. Views from the property are stunning. If you can tear yourselves away from the pool, gardens and views at La Violette, there are lots of places to visit and things to do in the vicinity. You can wander around historic cities, towns and villages, visit ancient chateaux, shop in kcal markets and try local produce, including the famous Roquefort cheese, get active walking, running, cycling or riding through stunning countryside, swim and kayak in rivers and lakes, hire boats and sail or paddle board, go white water rafting, parascending or canyoning, and enjoy fireworks displays, night markets and festivals. La Violette is also an ideal base for special interest holidays, for example, photography, bird watching, fishing, mountain biking and hiking. As the location is rural a car is required. We provide all bed linen (Egyptian cotton) and towels, including pool and tea towels. A welcome pack of basic provisions is also provided.
