Holly Cottage is a traditional self catered, 2 bedroomed cottage offering a shower room, ground floor cloak room, lounge/diner, fully equipped kitchen and private courtyard with secure storage for bicycles. The popular pub "The Pig&Whistle" adjoins the cottage, offering home cooked food , real ales and a great atmosphere. All of it! The host lives nearby and is available in the event of an emergency. Offering stunning views of the South Lakeland District fells and countryside, the sleepy picture postcard village of Cartmel has grown up around its famous 12th Century medieval Priory Church. It is a special place where ancient history and tradition mingle effortlessly with the present day. Very close to the Southern tip of Lake Windermere and within 30 minutes of Grizedale Forest and the bustling Lake District towns of Bowness on Windermere, Ambleside, Grasmere and the market town of Kendal. Cartmel is located between Grange-Over-Sands and Cark in Cartmel train stations. Both stations are less than 2 miles away and aproximatley a 45 minute walk away. Alternatively, Grange- Over-Sands also hosts a bus station that will take guests as far as Keswick or Kendal. Local taxi firms are also available and guests can feel free to ask for numbers for these upon booking. Luggage can be unloaded to the front of the property with roadside parking available at the front subject to availability. There are no steps to the front or rear entrance.
