This Dutch stone colonial was built in 1818, and its interior is decorated with period furniture, antiques and oil paintings. Air conditioned throughout, there are working fireplaces in the living room and the family room for the colder months. There are 3 guest bedrooms upstairs and a comfortable family room with a pull-out daybed (sleeps 2). The house is complete with board games, puzzles, croquet set and two porches. There is wi-fi and also "smart" TVs throughout. Property was built in 1818 as the manor house for large apple orchards running up and down this section of the Hudson River. The property sits on two acres with the acreage beyond the property line in the back running all the way to the river. This land is still being used as agricultural properties now managed by the Bruderhof Community. The house sits back from 9W and has a beautiful furnished porch overlooking the large pond situated in the backyard. The walls of the house are about 16 inches of bluestone parged with mortar which practically eliminates all road noise. Minutes away from the historic City of Kingston, first capital of New York in 1777, boasting of three historic areas of Uptown Stockade District, Midtown and the Downtown Rondout-West Strand Historic District on the water. Close too are the historic towns of Rhinebeck, just across the Kingston Bridge, and of New Paltz, home to SUNY New Paltz and settled in 1678 by the French Huguenots. The home is just 300 yards south of the popular Headless Horseman hayride attraction and Belleayre Ski Resort is roughly 45 minutes away on Route 28 in Highmount , New York. Will welcome guests personally and show them all of the nuances of this historic home. Also should guests haves any questions or problems during their stay, I will be available to assist. We will provide basic breakfast items depending on the guests' preferences: Coffee, tea, muffins, bagels, etc. will be available when you wake. Neighborhood is rural in nature with many commercial apple orchards, Catholic monasteries, shops, restaurants and historic sites. Must have own transportation. 4G and 2G wireless internet available with four smart televisions with Chrome and Amazon Fire stick in the master basement, two small bedrooms and the basement family room area. Also kitchen fully equipped with coffee maker, blender, expresso machine, and fully-equipped kitchen appliances and accessories. There is a closet in the downstairs family room stocked with board games, jigsaw puzzles, family-friendly DVDs and even a badminton and croquet set!
