Strawberry View welcomes cyclists and walkers
Strawberry View is the west end of our house. A separate entrance leads into a sitting room with sofa bed, dining area and view to the pond/garden. This leads into a kitchenette with microwave, kettle and sink. Bathroom with large shower and sink. Up a steep staircase, with alternate steps there is a 4ft double bed with views on 3 sides. Space for an additional single bed, upstairs, if needed. Ideal for a couple, child over 12 yr or 3 friends. Indoor bike storage, drying room and outside tap. We are a walking and cycling family. Bikes can come inside overnight. Dogs, house cats/pets are welcome. So you can travel with your loved pets, if you are out for the day pet feeding, water and walking can be arranged, for a small fee, if needed. At times we can accept single day bookings for a Saturday please ask if needed. There is an outside tap for cleaning bikes, boots and dogs. You are welcome to use disposable BBQs at the top of the garden on the hard standing by the table and chairs. We host students when Strawberry View isn't booked, many return year after year. We enjoy welcoming visitors to enjoy Somerset and Exmoor. There is plenty of off road parking, We are only 11 miles from Bristol Airport so between stays (for a small fee ) you can leave your car here. We are close to great walking and mountain/road cycling 6 miles Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury 12 miles and 4 miles Shipham. Easy access, 6.5 miles to junction 22 of the M5 and 13 miles to Hinckley Point J23 Park and Ride. Just 2 miles off the A38 Lands End John O'Groats route. Strawberry View has its own front door at the west end of our house. Your bathroom, living room, kitchenette and bedroom are only used by you. If you need to use the main kitchen and the utility/washing room just ask, they are shared space with my family but we are happy to share when needed. We live in the rest of the house, so are available a lot of the time and at specific times if needed. The washing machine and a drying area are available, ask when you arrive. Stone Allerton is a hamlet in the Somerset countryside between Cheddar Gorge, Wedmore and Cross. A walk on footpaths or a quiet road, of just over 1/2 a mile, will take you to the award winning Wheatsheaf Inn and Valley Smokehouse Shop for drinks and food, walkers, cyclists and dogs welcome. Or it is 3 miles to Wedmore and The Swan, The George and larger village shop. We are just off the A38 Lands End John o Groats route. With cycling on the levels, the Mendips and on, into Exmoor all from the doorstep. There are multiple footpaths from the door across the levels, to Axbridge, Mark and Wedmore with very little road walking required. By bike you can go straight across the levels to Glastonbury, Cheddar Gorge, the Westbury, Draycot or Burrington climbs. There is no public transport in Stone Allerton, a 2 mile walk takes you to the A38, the Falcon between Plymouth and Bristol is a stopping service along this route, approximately hourly during the day, it also runs during the night. We do request photo ID (e.g driving licence or passport) for booking in on arrival. We are happy to have cats and dogs
