Our spacious 2 bedroom terraced house in historic St Monans enjoys open sea views The south facing house has a small front garden directly above the shoreline and coastal walk . Many attractions are walking distance / easy driving incl St Andrews. 2 parks / open space are within minutes for children’s play. St Monans is a village in the East Neuk of Fife and is named after the legendary Saint Monan. It is a great place to come own your own , with family , with friends . There is something for everyone : relaxing and enjoying the views , walking , tennis, golf , touring the East Neuk and St. Andrews Situated approximately, 50 miles north of Edinburgh,12 miles south of St Andrews , I mile east of Elie 3 miles west of Anstruther, this small community, whose inhabitants formerly made their living mainly from fishing, is now a tourist destination situated on the Fife Coastal Path. The former burgh rests on a hill overlooking the Firth of Forth, with views to North Berwick, the Bass Rock and the Isle of May. St Monans contains many historical buildings, including the now defunct windmill (which can be visited) that once powered a salt panning industry, and a 14th-century church that sits on the rocks above the water on the western side. Approximately ½ mile west of St Monans are the remains of Newark Castle, a 16th-century manor . You will enjoy many walks within the village and beautiful views . Elie , Pittenweem and Anstruther are all within waking distance along the Fife coastal path . A taxi / drive will take you to many other good restaurants . St Monans has several " fish sheds " where you will be tempted by a range of high quality fresh fish . The award winning Ardross farm ( (Website hidden by Airbnb) is 1 mile away with a great variety if local fresh produce . The village shop is well stocked and a 3 mile drive will take you to the local cooperative supermarket if you need to stock up ( (Website hidden by Airbnb) .
