Gorgeous detached Victorian house on edge of lake with views over Cader Idris. House is full of character open fireplace, log burning stove, servant bells! A perfect house for family gatherings Christmas holiday available for minimum 3 nights Snowdonia is full of quaint cottages. Bryn Gwyn is special because it is a large handsome family home- standing in its own grounds on the edge of the village- but with shops of the village only 3 minute walk away. This is not a bland ‘holiday house’ -nor is it a posh country house hotel. It’s a a quirky, slightly shabby, very comfortable, deeply loved home full of lovely things. The whole house and lower garden (We are sometimes resident in the old coach house opposite Bryn Gwyn). You may see us tending the pigs, chickens and orchard in the upper garden) We will sometimes be resident in the old coach house. This is where Clare paints and Gwyn tends the pigs) Great views from a very Welsh village, easy access to beaches, mountains, Harlech castle, Portmeirion and Porthmadog. Brilliant for mountain bikers and the trampoline and zip wire at Llechwedd slate quarries Public transport not great- ideally you need a car You need to bring linen and towels. Duvets and pillows provided but you will need duvet covers, pillowcases and towels. There are 2 standard double beds and one king sized bed on the first floor + a single bed and a cot bed. There is one double and 4 single beds in the attic. We have free roaming chickens so if you bring a dog it must be kept under strict control in the garden.
