BLUE HOUSE - holiday break with ocean view

'Maresia' - You can smell, hear, see, feel and taste the sea in this lovingly created home overlooking the Ocean. Beautiful raised blue wooden chalet, Scandinavian style, comfortably furnished, with balcony, decking, barbeque and swimming pool within walled garden. Views of the sea and sunset. Stunning location near clifftop, in very peaceful, scenic area. Coastal walks, wildlife, pinewoods. Access to clean sandy beaches at Sao Juliao, surfer's paradise. Nearby local shops and dining. The Blue House is located in a quite non-through and non asphalted road about 300 meters from the main road. The area is surrounded by pine forests and walks overlooking the ocean cliffs. The nearest beach is 1.5 km (4 min by car or 15-20 min walking). Sao Juliao beach is 3km long. Guests can use the entire house, garden and swimming pool area space. Towels and bed sheeting are provided. House towels are not to be used in the beach.There are cupboard space with hangers in each of the bedrooms. A children's baby cot/bed is available. A barbeque area is also available for the use of the guests and care must be taken when using it due to the fire risk especially during the dry summer season. Guests on arrival will be meet by either the owner or his appointed person, both English speaking. A phone contact will be provided in case of emergencies or requests. Collection of guests from airport can be arranged at a cost. The house is located at the edge and inside the natural park of Sintra-Cascais and overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and evening sunsets. Weather may be subject to sea breeze and the sea waves can be heard at times. Sao Juliao beach is known for its surfing quality and there are plenty of walking areas close to the cliff side and on the beach. The Unesco recognised town of Sintra is 25 min away by car with plenty of tourist attractions. Lisbon airport or Lisbon centre is 40km (1 hour) Historical UNESCO centre of Sintra is 17km (25 min) Ericeira (fishing village) 9 km (15 min) and Mafra 13 km (21 min) Nearest beach 1.5 km (4 min by car or 15-20 min walking) Other beaches near are Samarra, Foz do Lizandro and Magoito Cascais and Estoril towns are 31 km (50 min) away Nearest restaurants are 600 meters and 1.7 km from the house. Good food and fish at reasonable prices (full menu costs a maximum of 10 Euros) There are also snack bars at the Sao Juliao beach The village Assafora centre is 2km away and has several local supermarkets, pharmacy. There is public transport from Assafora centre to Sintra bus/train station. Sintra has a direct train to Lisbon centre (Rossio) The house is not too close to restaurants, public transport or other amenities. Car use by guests can be advantageous. There is one bicycle for the use of the guests. Other bicycles are available for rental if required. Ocean water is cooler and guests are kindly reminded of the danger of sea waves and water current. Children must be supervised at all times. The beach is guarded by a sea rescuer during the summer period. Swimming pool might not in a good conditions for usage between 15 October to 15 April. There a few dogs in the neighboring houses so you may expect some barking. Although the house can accomodate up to 6 persons, I only accept 4 adults and 2 children as maximum.
