Encatel: Chalet in rural setting, near lake

The Chalet is located in Paulhenc, nestled within three acres of land surrounded by greenery and adjacent to an old-style barn inhabited by Paul and Tina. The surroundings offer plenty of free space and boasts an idyllic view of the lake. Paulhenc is a small commune situated in the Cantal, Auvergne region of France and is home to a local restaurant and bar as well as some enjoyable country walks including the Site de Turlande viewpoint with stunning 360-degree views. The chalet has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. There is a kitchen area as well as a dining table. The Chalet has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and if you are staying in the colder months there is a log burner to create a warm cosy atmosphere. Please note there is a €6 surcharge per day for logs and kindling for the log burner. The chalet offers an outside terrace with a seating area which is perfect for the spring and summer months. Guests are also welcome to use the space in the surrounding field. A car is essential for your stay in Paulhenc as there is limited public transport available. Lac de Sarrans is less than a 5-minute drive or approximately 30 minute walk from The Chalet and is a great place to enjoy swimming, water sports and picnics. There is also a local bar and restaurant where you can enjoy a drink and a bite to eat overlooking spectacular views. Pierrefort is the nearest town, 9KM away and offers a small supermarket, weekly farmers market, cafes and local boulangerie, charcuterie and cheesery. Other nearby towns of interest include Saint-Flour (27 KM), Laguiole (23 KM) and Aurillac (30 KM). There is a nine hole golf course at Le Battut, which is a 5 minute drive. The golf course has stunning view across the surrounding countryside and lake as well as a club house and bar. The ski resort of Le Lioran (45 km) is open from December to April (depending on snow conditions) and hosts 44 ski runs ranging from green to Black.
