The Annex provides a completely self contained accommodation with it's own entrance and external keybox, enabling independent access. Recently refurbished self catering accommodation in a conservation area on the edge of Merriott village. Ideal for vacationing, users of the National Cycle path (30) or business users. The property is not suitable for pets. 'The Annex at Clapper Hay’ is situated on the National Cycle path within a conservation area which forms part of Merriott Village in Somerset. Perfectly suited for couples, solo adventurers and the business traveler servicing the many industries located in nearby Yeovil (9 miles), it offers an ideal base for an overnight stop, a relaxing break or for visiting some of the many attractions in South Somerset and neighbouring counties. The completely refurbished, self-contained, fully equipped ground level accommodation consists of an open plan lounge / kitchen, a double bedroom, shower room with toilet and central heating throughout. The Annex is attached to the owner’s main house although completely self-contained with its own front door. Facilities include a fully fitted kitchen including fridge, microwave, electric hob, oven and grill. The open plan lounge and kitchen area includes dining table and chairs as well as TV and Wifi internet access. In the bedroom is a ‘King size’ bed of ‘zip & lock’ design that offers flexibility of a 5’ double or separated 2 x 2’ 6” single beds (previous notification requested), and wardrobe with draws. Towels and all linen are provided. Also available on request are a hair dryer, Iron and Ironing board and highchair. There is a no smoking policy inside the Annex and we regret that it is unsuitable for pets. Bicycles can be stowed in a locked garage as necessary. Outside is a small patio area with table & chairs and the Annex offers off-road parking on an extended driveway. Merriott is well served by a Co-Op food shop, a petrol station that includes a 'Premier' convenience store and integral post office, a Pharmacy, a farm shop with local produce, a delightful village pub (Currently closed due to COVID-19 restrictions) and a well resourced outside recreation area / gym. There are several other good pubs within a radius of around 4 miles, include the Royal Oak at Over Stratton (3 miles), the Dinnington Docks at Dinnington (4 miles) and the White Horse in Haselbury Plucknett (4 miles) - all walkable largely via footpaths. All pubs require pre-booking due to the COVID restrictions. The town of Crewkerne is just 2 miles away, providing larger supermarkets, more extensive shopping and a railway station that connects with London and Exeter. Surrounded with open farm and grazing land Merriott has access to some lovely country walks on well signposted footpaths. The world-renowned Jurassic Coast is just 20 miles to the South, with easy access points at Lyme Regis and West Bay. The A303 is approximately 3 miles (5 km) to the North, creating a gateway to the M5 at Taunton (20 miles) and for exploring a range of well-presented National Trust Properties in the area.
