Family holidays near Lake Como and Lake Lugano

Wonderful family home in Italy's Val D'Intelvi, very near both Lake Como and Lake Lugano and about 65 minutes by car from Milan's Malpensa airport. Homely and very good value, blissfully quiet and within easy reach of stunning scenery. Perfect for the summer and lake swimming, also makes a brilliant combined lake/ski week in winter. NB. We ask guests please to make their own beds because it is hard to predict how they will want to use the space. We have lots of linen and duvets for guests to use. We and our friends have used the house all year round. In the hottest days of summer, the house's altitude of 900 metres makes it cooler than the city or lakeside. It is a lovely place to go at the end of the day after swimming in the lakes and indulging in aperitivi on the waterfront. In the winter the house is toasty inside while the snow can lay thick outside. There are skiing days out, beautiful walks in the clear mountain air and local hearty pasta stews to consume. The nearest airport is Milan Malpensa, which is served by regular cheap flights. Flight time from London is 90 minutes. After hiring a car, it is an easy drive to the house in about 65 minutes.
